One of the paintings in my collection of amateur art found in thrift shops, flea markets, eBay, junk shops and tag sales.

A friend told me he dreamt that a radiator turned into a dog and hopped up into a tree to play. I doodled a picture of an English pointer radiator dog since he had a beloved English Pointer named Butler...who we sadly had to have put down due to cancer (I went to take him on his final journey...a sad day indeed). Butler worked with us in the shop, laying underfoot, getting dusty, and the occassional drip of coffee or varnish on him.

The radiator pointer points at crescent wrenches, aluminum colanders, ball bearings, anvils and other various metallic prey hunted by metal scrappers.

Long exposure using a bike tire with LED lights, this wasn't my intention of the photograph but I ended up liking it!

Still experimenting with alternatives to the relatively expensive pouring mediums. They don't come much cheaper than this ne, tap water (which actually worked pretty well).

Title: Turn up the heat please

A pair of crows sits atop a cobra-head street light during a snowstorm. I once read that some crows, being the smartest of the birds, learned that they could turn the streetlights on by covering the photocell with their wing. During the cold weather they would perch atop the lights and turn them on to warm up on the heat from the lamp. I love crows and this story has stuck in my mind. The other morning it was sleeting and as I was watching the snow I thought of that story and thus the picture was envisaged. It was drawn over the next few days and as of today it is literally hot off the desk - still smelling of lacquer fixative.

I wanted this painting badly. The price was low, but not low enough. I hope it found a happy home.

Best viewed Large.

Vintage and antique prints. And a few not-so-old ones, too. But I like them! ;-)

My latest effort at Pouring Acrylics. Acrylic paint on 16"X12" canvas. Still experimenting with different paints, pouring media and canvas sealers. In this case, I think I got the paint a bit too thin!

There's so little difference between the girl's and the old man's.

this is probably my most favorite painting I did

One of the members from Art Sonic (France). This group plays on guitars synchronously, so it looks like you're hearing one instrument. They walk around the city and they choose the place for their performances by themselves.

Some recent stencils sprayed onto canvas.

Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse Spray painted stencils onto A3 card and framed.

A thrift shop painting - part of my collection of amateur art

This painting is on another wall in Tommy's room.

It's an original painting, obviously done by a Sunday painter - certainly not a professional artist. I found it on eBay and I had to have it because Tommy grew up in a house on a canal, much like this one, in Tampa, Florida. He also was a very blonde little boy. This could have been a painting of him!

It's fairly large, the painting itself is 16X20 and if you look close there's a hole up at the top. It's just an old flea market type painting, but he loves it!

Her name is "Eve." Because you should always name a guitar. Always.

Epiphone Special II outfitted with Dunlop straplocks and Guitar Fetish Dream 180 pickups. The headstock is also repainted.

... and home office. The computer and bookshelves are off to the left.

This tiny room (10X10) does double duty - sort of. Actually, since I have my MacBook, I rarely go in here. Tommy uses the desktop computer to go to the Buc's website (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), and that's about it. He can check his emails, etc on his Blackberry.

And since we never have guests - the fold-out couch never gets, uh, folded-out.

It's nice for an occasional nap, though. ;-)

This little painting was a thrift store find.

Just started this painting of two gemsbok fighting it out on the African Savannah. I've decided to keep the background minimal and I intend to make the gemsbok detailed so your eye has no choice but to look at em...hopefully It'll work and I won't ruin it!
