Being that Amanda is the only child to her parents that leaves her as sole Heiress to father’s ten diamond minds. This billion dollar heiress is a strong believer that “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” So she continues to cover herself with them. The only thing that drawls her away from her next diamond is a good handbag from her favorite designers “Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, D&G, Fendi or Prada.”

We didn't find this spot, Kyle did.
And because Kyle's a swell guy, he invited me, Laura, Carré, and Amanda along to shoot there.
Choice spot, right in the hills of Encino. View for days, perfect light, the place had architecture to die for, inside & out.
We only scratched the surface, of course.
This here shot came into my head because of something Laura was doing, lying Carré down at the edge of the pool, getting the pool to create this fresh line in the shot. She was taking them from the same vantage point as this one, a patio above the pool, but it's damn near impossible to use an SLR and get this photo.
Fortunately, I got me a TLR. Held it out in front of me, squinted through the viewfinder, saw this and just about jumped out of my skin.
Turned out exactly the way I wanted it to. Gotta love that feeling.
And Amanda. Gotta love that lady, too.

FEBRUARY 25, 2008 -- SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA, USA -- Amanda, 19, of Anoka, Minnesota (USA) -- PHOTO BY JASON STAHL
One of my recurring fantasies is to be able to create a portrait of Miss Amanda Lee that REALLY does her justice, and in the process, to become as good as Matt Carson, her favorite photographer. I'm not there yet, but I keep trying. And in the meantime, it's certainly a pleasant journey! :-)
Like many of my other portraits of Amanda, this one is not posed.

I decided to go back and re-edit one of my most favorited photos on here and I'm happy with the outcome!

Amanda got a new lens and we were playing with my borrowed Photogenic 1250 lighitng kit.
She previously only had her kit lens for her RebelXT/350D, now she has a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L (her first L lens, you can read the story about it here).
Tech Details: Taken with a Canon 20D and Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens, shot to RAW and processed in Adobe Camera Raw/Photoshop CSIi.
Lighting Details: Two Photogenic 1250 strobes, at a 45 degree angle to the right with a Photogenic 4'x'3' softbox about 2.5 ft. away from the subject. The second Photogenic 1250 strobe 5' away to the left of the subject and powered down a bit to only provide fill lighting (although on this specific shot it's a tight enough in camera composition that you can't really get the detail from that light because it was shot so tight). Lighting triggered by Pocket Wizard plus units.
This mural in Margate depicts Marine Biologist Amanda Vincent.
She works to tell good news stories, always seeking solutions that generate optimism and action by the largest possible number of people. Dr. Vincent, along with her Project Seahorse team, have made measurable gains in marine conservation, with encouraging outcomes and impacts from their work.

A friend is writing an article on designer Jason Wu for Cosmopolitan Taiwan, and asked me to take photos before and after his show at Bryant Park (part of New York's fashion week). I've never been in the loop with this fashion thing, and so the whole scene was quite novel and fascinating.
Pictured here is the ultra-glammish Amanda Lepore (thanks for the info, Drewbic).

Kirsten Prout was born in Vancouver, Canada, and began her career at ten-years-old. She grew up in a household completely removed from the film industry, being the daughter of a neurologist and a child therapist. She credits her early insight into behaviour as a product of her mother's background in therapy. This sensitivity led to a talent for developing characters and story, which manifested itself as a love of film, television and literature. She also enjoyed dance and martial arts, training most extensively in the latter. Met with success at an early age, Kirsten worked locally in Vancouver, guest-starring on shows such as "First Wave" (1998), "Stargate SG-1" (1997), "Cold Squad" (1998) and "The Dead Zone" (2002). Her first sizeable break in film came in 2005 when she landed the part of "Abby Miller", a young martial arts prodigy, alongside Jennifer Garner, in Elektra (2005). Kirsten performed her own stunts and utilized her past training in taekwondo, crediting the experience as one of the most challenging and rewarding of her career. Transitioning from her rebellious character, Kirsten worked on the ABC Family television series "Kyle XY" (2006) as the demure "Amanda Bloom". After the show finished its successful three seasons, Kirsten, always academically inclined, chose to attend McGill University as an English Literature major, furthering her understanding of character, story, and the written word. After returning from Montreal, Kirsten landed Summit's Eclipse, part of the hugely successful Twilight Saga, and the miniseries Seven Deadly Sins.
