Detail from the altar with a depiction of the marriage of the Virgin (dating to the 17th century). Inside the The abbey of Our Lady in Lonlay (or Lonlay-l'Abbaye).
This abbey, at first situated outside the town of Lonlay (now the place has grown) was founded by William of BellĂȘme (Guillaume Ier de BellĂȘme), with the original charter signed around 1020. It was a Benedictine abbey, built in Romanesque style. It had several priories, including Notre Dame sur l'eau in Domfront (which can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/dameboudicca/20515002803 ). The whole place saw substantial renovations and rebuilding in the 12th and 14th century and the church is now in the Gothic style. But it also saw two fires in the 16th century - the first started by accident in 1533 (which destroyed much of the abbey archives) and the second by Huguenots in 1574 during the War of Religions. The Benedictine order left after this and the place was never fully rebuilt. The church was also damaged by bombs in 1944 and the liberation of France. A full restoration (including archaeological studies) began in 1965 and in 1973 the church was once again open for parish use.

Just one of the images taken inside Holy Sepulchre, Warminghurst. More images can be found on my blog - alanfrostphotography.com/blog/
A little altar inside St Martin's Stamford. Focus was on the nearest (LHS) candlestick, the cross might have been marginally better in hindsight. Hand-held and I think at 1/25 sec. One day I'll try pushing a roll of film a couple of stops.

In der evangelischen Ulrichskirche in Augsburg
Altar and organ in the Protestant Lutheran Church of St. Ulrich in Augsburg. The altarpiece by Baroque painter Johann Heiss from 1693 depicts the Last Supper.
The Cathedral of St. Peter in Worms, Germany. The cathedral is located on the highest point of the inner city of Worms and is the most important building of the Romanesque style in Worms. It is closely associated with Bishop Burchard and the high point of Worms' history in the 12th and 13th centuries. Most of the cathedral was finished by 1181, however the west choir and the vaulting were built in the 13th century, the elaborate south portal was added in the 14th century, and the central dome has been rebuilt.
Wish you a beautiful day!!!!!!!!

The interiors of the churches are dominated by sumptuous Baroque decoration and statuary, much of it polychrome. Both the main altar and each of the many side and chapel altars are backed by a large retable, generally focusing on the Passion of Christ or the life and death of a saint.
This altar-image in Church of the Holy Sepulchre hasn't been renowed for many years, cause it is in poor Gorgia's (not sure - maybe coptic one?) branch chapel - so decided powerful main administrators.
Maybe this is why eyes flushed with red anger.
I loved this beautiful fountain and its nice atmosphere, it was made by local artisans, and it is a very famous place to visit in Valladolid, near Chi chen Itza.
