The landing gear is out.

This close up of the old surround system reciever in my living room is today's daily shot. It is 20 years old this year so it may be time for a new one. A new system really; this one is really not great any more, some of the speakers are out and static prone, the remote barely works except to turn it on and off, so effects need to be changed (which I don't even bother with anymore) at the console. What age is something an antique? This one surely is close....

Day 303

Soooo...a few days ago I hit day 300 of this project. GUYS. Do you realize what this means? A little over two months and this is over!! :( And I have to think of what my last photo will be and what I will write, and how will I feel?! Gosh, I can't believe this is so close to being over! What a journey this has been....have I improved since 303 days ago? Give me your thoughts on what you've seen change in my photography since the beginning! (Or even a few months ago) (You can untag yourself if you wish)

Green in the shadows.

The stunning colors of the maple leaf have always fascinated me. How they change from golden yellow to the the most vibrant of reds. They encompass all of the colors of autumn in one single leaf.

Another fantastic photographer you should have a look at is www.flickr.com/photos/nickso/ . He is one of the best on flickr for macro shots, they will just blow your mind. He also is a kind, fun, and generous Flickr friend ....you wont be disappointed when you have a look.

Rosie's 1 year old today, and she had a really fun party this evening, with her uncle Riley attending as a guest!! ;-) Today also marks the 1 year point with her Craniomandibular osteopathy (CMO) Decease. Studies about CMO show that it's a juvenile decease, and is only active during the first year of life. Once the growth cycle stops, so does the CMO decease. We already see her 10 to 15 day pain cycle starting to taper off, so we're almost out of the woods with this one!!!

Happy Birthday Rosie!!!

A shot I didn't realize I had. This was taken back in the spring from our visit to the Minnetrista Center here in my home town. I haven't been out very much this week... and when I was, I wasn't much interested in taking photos...:o( I cropped this a bit and added some texture.. just to keep me busy. I think I might be getting better, hopefully this week will be a better "shoot week"! I trust all my Flickr friends are having a GREAT weekend!

... is one of life's hardships. - Lemony Snicket

After hearing all the lurid detals of my week ( I only shared a small part of the worst week ever with you guys...) my doctor declared that it was not a nanny that I needed...but a wife:).

Baby A had his checkup today, and he is awesome. He has put on a ton of weight and is just doing really well.

Me, however...well, my doc said as long as I am still laughing, I am okay:).

Hahahahaha.

So I officially start back to work on the 25th, although I am unofficially back at work as of today. Apparently I have left a few things undone, namely calling my hair stylist to get a trim and touchup on the color!

Not much to photograph these days. I asked my doctor for the stone; but he had to send it to the lab. But he was nice enough to give me this photo. I had a ureteroscopy and lithotripsy. The yellow cauliflower looking thing is the stone. The green dot is the laser. Ouch, ouch, ouch

A rose at our local park ... the petals have all fallen off, but the stamens remain. Soon it will be a rosehip. I added a texture to emphasise the 'feel' of the image.

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days - I appear to have been lurgified: I ache all over and feel pretty low. Hopefully I will bounce back soon.

All is quiet on Mendota, for now.

(Week 51) Almost Over

It took me more than a year to reach photo #51. >:)

SOOC!!!

I just realized that i only have a little over 2 weeks left before i wrap up this photo-a-day 100 Days of Spring project.

I'm tempted to just continue this as a 365 project, but i don't know if i can carry on.

It's a lot of fun, and definitely somethin that forces me to constantly shoot, and be creative, and it has for the past 82 days made me appreciate photography more and more, and that it made me know my camera and my lenses more, of what they're capable of doing. I'd have to say that i really love my CANON (:p) camera and my lenses soo much more than when i started this project. I love the images that they create, and i feel good about the positive responses and feedbacks i get from a lot of good people here on Flickr (and Facebook too).

On the other hand tho, i get really lazy at times, and a lot of my shots are lacking inspiration and creativity. I took a lot of shots just for the sake of putting a photo up for the day. It really is a big commitment, and i'm just amaze that a lot of people who are doing the 365 project are able to pull it through. So forgive me if a lot of my photos are, as one of my critique would coldheartedly put it, "weak!" (yes, i'm talking about you, TONY :p)

So i really don't know yet, at this point, if i wanted to carry this on or not.

Also, i'm having a lot of fun doing my strangers project and i want to concentrate on that.

Oh well, we'll see. I'm probably just going to extend this for another 100 days for the summer. Which reminds me, spring is almost over now too. Bring on the heat!!! :D

Alright, i'm going to stop talking now, for whoever made the mistake of reading this is probably asleep by now :p

p.s.

Out of boredom, i thought i'd do something different with this shot for today. I added a black border which i'm very happy with the result that i'm seeing. This one definitely looks good with the thick black border on the top and bottom.

For the longest time i've been trying to avoid putting the usual "this-is-my-name PHOTOGRAPHY" watermark in my photos because i feel like its overrated, and i honestly don't believe i'm there yet, that i'm actually a photographer and that i'm creating beautiful photography. I've always just considered myself a guy with a camera and that i take pictures. Definitely no offense meant to all you good people here that has 'PHOTOGRAPHY' on their watermark, this is just MY OWN personal viewpoint on MY OWN photos. But for fun, i thought i'd make this shot different by doing just that, i even went as far as putting a trademark symbol after my name, just for the heck of it, because i think it looks "cool" lol, so there :p end of babble :D

My vacation is almostover, Have to leave the city and head home today. Back to work tomorrow. It has been a full week, with alot of activity and time spent enjoying family. Many images to process still Many more to post. Including 2 more waterfalls, The statue garden, The NorthShore Como Park Conservatory and zoo, as well as the rest of the Guthrie Theatre and some downtown shots

A few days ago I posted a shot of little blue flags in my yard, and mentioned how it was about to be dug up so a new sewer line could be placed running from my house to the street.

Well, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. We've been waiting since January to have this work done. But due to constant rain for these past few months the work had to wait until the ground was dry enough to dig.

So here we are, the second week of March and in a day or two it will all be over.

*BIG SIGH of relief*

The last day of August provided ample sunlight for crowds a during the @tasteofmadisonwi, which made for a perfect day to be outside for an annual Madison Labor Day weekend tradition.

believe me... it feels worse than it looks :)

btw... didn't have to add to the red in the eyes and on the rims of my eyes...
