Toasting nicely, although the wall doesn't make it look as good as it could have been.

We went to Parc du Rhin in the outskirts of Strasbourg yesterday where we spent some hours in leisurely mood watching the ships going up and down and people relaxing in the park's green spaces. It was very emotional for me since I was born in Germany near the Rhine and for decades hadn't seen it ... and then we happened upon the construction site of the new Pont d'Europe and my interest was utterly stirred :)

1959 Leitz (Canada) Telyt 4/200 on A7RII

Custom MLC for ccandy17/Carmen... getting all finished up!

Her lids are multiple purple and blue tones with a moon and many stars, like the evening sky. The darker areas on the moon and stars are touches of glitter, the base is all the same color of silver.

Taken with 1959 Leitz (Canada) Telyt 4 / 200 on A7RII.

On a flight to Tampa i was pleasantly surprised to see a Great Dane in the row in front of me. Not everyday that you see that.

Turns out that Quinn is a narcolepsy service dog trained to warn their master when an episode is coming. Narcolepsy alert dogs give a warning up to five minutes before a sleep attack. This allows the narcoleptic to sit or lie down, find a safe place or call a relative, so that they can avoid being injured.

She was so calm, I did’t every realize she was there until we landed. She’s also so beautiful. It made my day and I was grateful to the owner to indulge me for my photo of the day. If you zoom in the photo, you can see her service vest.

Quinn has her own Instagram page. Here’s a link.

The Pareto Principle—sometimes known as the 80/20 rule—states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes (the "vital few"). It can be applied to economics (80% of the wealth is held by 20% of the people), software engineering (fix 20% of the bugs, eliminate 80% of the crashes), and a host of other domains.

In jigsaw puzzles, 80% of the frustration fun will derive from the remaining 20% of the pieces to place.

pheeeeeeeeeew i made it!! 65 days left! ahhh

just got my first feature!! :) see it here

If you have the time, worth a look!

Another shot from my home away from home...NY Botanical Gardens. I never get enough of their Water Lily and Lotus Pond, no matter what time of year it is! I really do enjoy my time here! There is such a big difference between the NY and Brooklyn Gardens, Brooklyn, besides being small is more peaceful I think. But I love them both!

The beautiful changes in life are constant in the gardens, but none so noticeable as in the ponds.

I want to truly thank you my friends, for all your visits and comments. Much appreciated!

Be well all.....

Explore...much thanks!

I'll post my very last image, day 365, tomorrow. As I've been staying true to this project - and shooting each picture on each day of the year.

I just can't even believe I'm this close to the end. ONE MORE PICTURE, really?!

But you know what? I wouldn't have started this project if I didn't really think I could finish, I'm not like that. I knew it'd be a challenge, but I also knew it'd be something fun for myself, that I would want to stick with.

So let me tell you a little bit about this project. I've grown so much as a photographer, that's given. I've tried new things, shot in new places, under new circumstances, on a time limit...and every day. But during the last few months I've felt more tied back and restricted by the project then I'd like to feel with my photography. It's hard taking a self portrait everyday! It's hard taking a self portrait at all - especially with the kind of photography I'm so passionate about.

While this project has been incredible for me, and I really will continue to take self portraits - I am just most excited to step back behind the camera, see the things the way they need to be seen...instead of running back and forth trying to figure out where to place myself in the scene! There are so many limitations and struggles I had to overcome when working alone, or shooting myself. But all of those struggles? Well, they're just part of the project and part of what's helped me grow!

I do know one thing though. While this project really was for myself, and I feel more proud and satisfied that I've completed it then I've ever felt towards anything else I've done. However! I definitely, definitely have to thank all of you guys...Friends, Family, and Flickr, thank you. On those days where I'd think "Man, it'd be so easy to just NOT take a picture today..." I'd then get a flash of everyone who has been following along, everyone who expects a daily picture, I'd think about how disappointed I'D feel if I let any of YOU down. So you know what? This project was for me - but I'm just so damn pleased you all enjoyed it too. And I hope now you stick around to see what's to come.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! One more picture to go! Let's hope I remembered to charge my camera battery. :)

The snow finally stopped! It took Stu and me an hour to shovel all the snow on the driveway so we could get out. We are going to get a snowblower soon!

. . . admittedly, this is a beautiful and unusual specimen. For one thing, this perspective hides an ungainly and inelegant neck! But who among us doesn't inwardly shudder when we see a flock of these birds, circling lazily overhead? I know I do, as I try to remind myself that they are not evil . . . they are simply nature's "garbage collectors," providing an invaluable service by keeping our landscape clean!!

Watercolor in The Sketchbook Project book. My theme: "Heroes and Villains""

The sun was out and shining bright only one day this week. On that day, the forecast indicated heavy rain for ten days here in San Francisco. Another Suki shot in the rain? Uh, no thanks =)

With no time to plan a more elaborate shot, I simply took a random, unplanned shot of Suki for this week. Just a regular old daily stroll with Suki: Walk sniff click, sniff sniff walk, click click click, sniff sniff....pee.

Kinda like how it turned out though...ugly Dodge Neon in the background and all. One last sunny day, and now it's pouring rain in SF!

Two images to go...

Dear Arms,

Thank you for helping me everyday. You work well with my hands in helping me get through my everyday life. Thank you for helping me show affection with your embrace. Thank you for helping me push, pull and lift. Thank you for giving me momentem when I run. I sometimes wish you were thinner, but hey we'll work on that. Thank you for my morning stretch. Thanks for extending when I need to scratch my back. I'm glad you can reach down and touch my toes. Without you and my hands working so well together, I wouldn't be able to hold my camera. Thanks for that. ;)
