This is probably going to be my last post of this year, 2021.
The next day, we write November 12, 2021, it went early from Bad Hersfeld to Neuenkichen Haunetal where I stayed all day until it was dark again.
The fog was still there and thick, this valley is known for its fog, I was already there once, about 15 years ago on a June day, I remember it well. Times change, people too. Motivations and passions also on a different level, deep down at the source they remain the same.
During the day I was able to take a lot of photos, the train traffic is overwhelming and very different due to the different railway companies. Very early on arrival I was able to capture this DB Cargo traxx in image that was on its way through the thick fog with a series of empty container cars that gave a nice overview over the signals, a loaded one would take away too much early light behind and the signals would not come out like that . The middle signal is almost hidden behind a mast, I have tried in all different ways to remedy this but I had to make do with it. The three red signals, the locomotive with soft lights.
It was a nice start to the day.

Brown bears spend a whole lot of time in the water when they're looking for dinner ... salmon dinner specifically. They do this thing called snorkeling, which is when they place their heads on the surface of the water and gently submerge it to get a peek at what's underneath. Of course, this is all without the actual snorkel. LOL. The meander around looking for something tasty and then they go after it. Sometimes they succeed in grabbing their dinner, but many times they don't and emerge from the surface, water dripping everywhere from its face, and they almost have that look of defeat on their face. Don't worry, they go right back after it and do this behavior over and over. It's so much fun to observe and photograph. Of course for me, they could be doing nothing and I would have a great time, it doesn't take much. Yes, being with the bears in Katmai is definitely my happy place!

Was turning away from photographing the sunset when I noticed this little fellow all on his lonesome.

All but one is obvious due to the grey Opel standing apart from the crowd. - However, it is also an all but two (the two red cars), an all but three (three are standing in the opposite direction), and an all but four (the four whites).
It is very interesting to see in 2025 how the world has changed during these years.
