Description of work: The Soares Planetarium has been open to the public since 1998, funded by the city of Porto and the Science and Development Foundation (Fundacao Ciencia and Desenvolvimento-FCD). Designed by the architect Jose Maneual Soares, the outstanding architectural feature is the curved region of the exterior. The spherical planetarium theater has been incorporated into the wall and interrupts an otherwise flat brick construction.
