I decided to dine in the garden courtyard instead of the very red, lux, plush and seemingly stuffy restaurant. It was around 25 degrees Celcius at the time (and it seemed like a waste to eat inside) and the trees and surrounding walls of the hotel provided a nice cool shade to the garden. The area was spacious, romantic and fresh. There was a fountain, and sweet chickadees who were serenade by new age-y music. The service was affable and tried to cater to my non-Italian tongue.

An old Massey Ferguson combine harvester, the type they had in the fields when I were a lad, kicking up dust as it munches through a plot of old-style wheat. Conditions for the operator were a long way from today's air-conditioned cabs and satellite/laser-guided navigation.
