The power came back on again, and Dougie had a celebratory drink, then got straight back to work. Good old Dougie, what would I do without him?
One day, he'll actually finish repairing that damaged Audi!

A 1/18th scale model diorama garage with assorted model cars and props imported from all round the world. Castrol oil can, WD-40 can, cans of soft drink, and the bottle of hand sanitiser are miniatures in 1/12th scale and are from England. Dougie is from the USA, as is the garage and other assorted props on the left of shot. The Audi is from Japanese company and the lovely red CMC Alfa Romeo roadster was from a German company that build them by hand in China. It remains the most detailed model I have owned. All photographed on a Japanese camera by an old Irishman in Australia!
My good Flickr friend Malte Leistner has recently published a photo of a modern Alfa Romeo car, which reminded me about this shot. I know it is not perfect, but it gives you an idea how some of the best cars in the world looked 90 years ago...
This one is Alfa Romeo RLSS circa 1926. Photo taken in Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, Turin, Italy.
Please note: Malte told me the car on his shot is not actually very recent one - it is a model from 1970-ies!
Three of the beautiful cars at the Alfa Romeo Museum just outside Milan. It wasn't the easiest of places to get to on public transport - the train only got as close as Rho. The next bus from Rho to the museum wasn't for 40 minutes, so we got a drink in a cafe just outside the station and ran into a taxi driver having a break, so it all worked out well.

I was well aware of the 1980s Alfa range from my dad having a couple of Giuliettas in succession, but I can't immediately recall any of the sporting Ti models that I d have seen in everyday use.
Production: 1 of 36 (1949-1952), including only 5 convertibles.
Dutch entrepreneur Frans van Haren has a classic car collection that has won prizes at prestigious national and international competitions. Since 2017, he has been presenting his impressive car collection to a wider audience in the futuristic-looking, former furniture showroom 'Metropole' in Druten, the Netherlands.
The collection includes some four hundred cars, trucks and motorcycles, making it almost the largest car museum in the Netherlands.

This was quite a shock to see, this very rusty Alfa was just left on a vacant piece of land in an area with a lot of specialist garages. It's unusual to see rusty cars here but this one appears to have been in an accident, exposing the metal to the elements
