"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."

Quote - Albert Camus

It's a photo from last year, but I do hope we will have another beautiful autumn!

immer wieder aufs Neue.

LOVE IN OUR HEARTS (NEW SUMMER TUNE) – JIMMY BRINE

SUMMER IN MY HEART FOR YOU

It was raining in my heart last night

I was looking for the sun

but wherever it was it was out of sight

and I felt that Summer had gone

then came a breath of fresh air in the words you wrote

and I saw the rain had stopped

You told me to keep the Summer in our hearts

you were right and I was not

I will still look forward to Autumn though

because I love to run through the leaves

to hear their rustle and to feel alive

with the coolness of the Autumn breeze

Every season has it's smell

every minute can do too

If you don't believe me then try this thing

and it will bring a smile to you

stand outside on a Summer's day

sniff the air; note the way it feels

then in the evening do the same again

do you see what I'm talking about now

this “secret” is my gift to you

I discovered it as a child

I can hear the tide turn as well you know

and find harmony in the wild

it's no secret; I dance to my own tune

I am like Poppy Pan,

Peter's long lost little sister

I've been here since the world began

I may never grow old

not in the way we know

to be the fate of everything

but I will always keep Summer in my heart for you

throughout the Winter and ensuing Spring

when the primroses bloom

and the wild bells grow

and the woods are full of blue

I will look to the sky

have the Spring in my step

and the Summer in my heart for you.

Chairs, Benches and Seats

This is yet another new series of photographs this time about Chairs and Benches with a few other seating items thrown in.

They can be Regal, Practical, Ultra Design items, Art Installations, used for Potty Training. They can even be vehicles of Execution. They hold immense power and none at all. From the densest populated cities, to the most remote parts of the world. Usually sturdy; reliable; honest; comfortable; often filled with people. People talking, sleeping, with their phones, eating, climbing to reach other items, feeding birds, making love and every scenario one can think of.

The imagination can run riot over the most important conversations that have taken place on them, what they could tell you if they could, what they would tell you if they wanted too. As usual I hope you enjoy what I have posted and this is the next in the series…….

We look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants--everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world.

Bicycles

Although I don’t ride a bike, well not at least for 40 odd years, there is something satisfying about a bike. It’s solid, reliable (mainly), an art form, it has a place in our society, an environmental champion, a pleasure and a serious competitor.

There aren’t many things in life that fulfil those criteria, there will always be those detractors but for me the bike is a hero.

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” – Albert Camus

Winkworth Arboretum, near Hascombe in Surrey, is always a lovely place to visit – but in autumn it’s absolutely spectacular.

Its creator, Dr Wilfrid Fox, wanted to ‘use plants to paint a picture’. So he spent more than 20 years doing just that, are today we’re all the beneficiaries of his vision.

Winkworth hosts more than 1,000 species of tree and shrub, and covers some 95 acres (38 hectares). Wanting to preserve his work for future generations, Dr Fox, a leading dermatologist, donated his arboretum to the National Trust in 1952, ten years before he died.

GOING HOME – SOPHIE ZELMANI

I AM

I am born free

in a field with wild flowers in my hair

the sounds of nature first to touch my ears

the softness and warmth of the earth beneath me

first sight the bluest sky filled my eyes

and coloured them for all my life

the sun shone bright and hot that day

bathed my hair and always stayed

corn-coloured tresses and cornflower blue eyes

wild and messy with no earthly ties

my Dad delivered me you see

the only ones there were my Mum and me

small bunnies in the fields

small birds on the wing

the joy of my life

to them was everything

later I would run barefoot and free

laughing pure and clear

climbing all the trees

but then their lives both ended suddenly

and it seemed that time stood still

and everything went dark for me

and darker still when I fell ill

it's hard to understand the complexities of life

for some it's a walk in the park

for others endless grief and strife

with no flickering flame to light the dark

but all I can say about the mysteries that surround me

is that even through the darkest; wildest storms

it's still possible to find the light

it's still possible to break free

the heavy shroud I wore

too big for my young shoulders

slipped and fell and with it tore

the melancholy mantel

some days are still seeped in sad memories

but mostly I'm ok

I hope you'll better understand me

and why I disappear and hide some days

I need that time of quiet reflection

I need to reconnect

with nature and all it's miracles

that calm my mind and balm my soul

the healing nature of it's powers

that brings me back so bright and bold.

I love this time of year. Not only do I love the cooler and rainy weather but I love the how the clouds act as natural soft boxes for my pictures :). For me Fall and Winter are the perfect seasons for pictures in natural lighting.

I've been in love with the sunsets lately they seem a lot more warmer and have a certain glow about them that just looks amazing!
