A returning Rail 200 cavalcade from the Derby Great Gathering near South Brent. This is the 0Z03 09.27 Derby Litchurch Lane - Laira light engine movement. I'd photographed the HST power cars going from Laira to Derby last week but 57604 had had a repaint I gather at Eastleigh and had gone in a consist from there to Derby formed of 66501 + 90018 + 70008 + 57604 + 59201. Now after its moment in the sun it's back to its usual job of failing on the Paddington - Penzance sleeper train. This is a great location but sadly a lineside bush has grown excessively in the last two years. In 2023 when I was here taking a few XC HST shots you could get the full sweep of the train. Now that possibility has gone when everything is in leaf. I'd fotted 37501 light here a few weeks back which was fine but I was a bit worried I wouldn't squeeze three engines in but I just managed. I'd been here in the field at Aish for half an hour with clouds passing over and ever changing light . It was either a sunny foreground and Brent Hill in the distance dull. Or the hill was sunny and the field dull. Or both were dull. The weather gods this time were on my side as both foreground and backdrop suddenly were bathed in sunshine just as the convoy came by. Thank you.
aish como siempre digo la vida da tantas vueltas & no dejes ke te atrape xdddd me gusta glup en especial esa cancion ;DDD

With Brent Hill behind a LNER HST set sweeps around the curve on the approach to Aish Crossovers running a little over 60 late. With these not far off being replaced on the East Coast by more Hitachi kit could these end up with XC permanently?

The weedkilling MPV was top and tailed by class 66 locomotives for the 2020 season due to the driver and the machine operator having to 'social distance' I believe. After already visiting Cornwall three weeks prior the formation is seen here heading back to Cornwall to visit Newquay, as it missed it first time round. In some great evening light the train is captured sweeping around the bend between South Brent and Aish Crossovers.
High Brown Fritillary (Argynnis adippe).
This is a very rare, resident British butterfly, which has declined by over 90% since the 1970s. Once common and widespread in large woodlands in England and parts of Wales, this butterfly is now confined to just a few sites. This one was located on Dartmoor.
Conservationists are working to save this beautiful from extinction. I am very happy to have been able to locate and photograph it :)
Thank you for visiting. I'm sorry if I've not yet visited you. I've been having severe internet problems, but after some hardware replacement, I'm up an running again. I hope to get to you all over the weekend... Have a great one! :)
