Takob Akob waterfall is one of the few newly discovered waterfalls in Maliau Basin Conservation Area, in Sabah, Malaysia.Takob Akob Falls was named after the mangosteen look-alike tree found beside the falls.
The drop of Takob Akob Falls is 38 metres (125 ft), making it the highest waterfall in Maliau Basin, Sabah Malaysia.
It is about 3.5 kilometers away from Nepenthes Camp (Camel Trophy Camp), about 1.0 - 2.5 hours of trekking (depending on your fitness and weather).

Coban Pelangi "rainbow 🌈" waterfall at the bottom of starting point for mountain hiking to Mount Semeru, one of the highest mountain in Java, took its name from the mythical Mount Meru in Indian cosmology.

When my brother visited Banyumala waterfall in 2015 it was almost unknown and he had to ask farmers until he found someone to guide him there. In 2019 there are more than 1000 google reviews, signs from the main road, paid parking, and a little cafe.
Giluk Falls plunge over the edge of the southern plateau of the Maliau Basin into dense lowland dipterocarp rainforest. Alternating layers of soft, easily-eroded mudstone and harder sandstone have given rise to a series of exposed sandstone shelves over which the falls cascade.

Lake Toba was created by four super volcanoes in a world changing event a long, long time ago. It's hard to imagine this when looking at today's serene landscape.
Tiu Kelep waterfall, the 2nd in our visit, can be reached by an additional 45min-1hour walk from the first waterfall. Visitors will be rewarded with crystal clear water, and a bathing pool at the foot of the waterfall. An amazing sight.
