Acutally the owner was shy.
I'd like to take some photos of his sign boards, he agreed. And a friendly old man kept encouraging me to take his photo. Usually I am just too shy to take photos of people.
The Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad was probably the largest mosque in the Indian subcontinent built in this period. Designed as part of a major plan desired by the Emperor Sultan Ahmed Shah. The wide open courtyard, floored with white marble, is ringed by a colonade painted with giant Arabic calligraphy, and has a tank for ritual ablutions in the center. from ami to me to you...
Dear Friends,
As many of you know that I was volunteering in India for about two years. Manav Sadhna, an organization I worked closely with, does amazing work with the children and women of the slums in Ahmedabad.
The reason for this email is that I hope you and/or your friends may want to order cards for Diwali and/or Christmas to support these children.
The cards are made by children in the Earn n Learn project. Slum life often forces children into hazardous street life, often depriving them of childhood and education. Through this project these very children attend school, receive a nutritious snack, and still help support their families by making cards in a safe, fun, creative, and nurturing environment. All cards are handmade by the children using recycled paper. Earn n Learn is a Manav Sadhna initiative.
Each packet includes 25 cards and costs $20.75. I am attaching a sample of cards and inserts. If you are interested, please e-mail me with your order at amerooski@yahoo.com.
Please forward this email to your friends and family members who would be interested.
Thank you in advance for your support.
