Raffi really likes to play with his bal and have a swim.

Hope that everyone had a fun Halloween. Despite the weather...(windy...60's and intermittent rain) my grandkids had a ball! It was, as always..a "treat" for me to see them in costume.

The crew and I decided to do a little urban exploration today in Joliet Illinois.

There's an old prison there and we wanted to see if we could get in.

It was some beautiful weather and we had all the gear ready to go.

We got to the prison grounds and pulled up the satellite imagery on the old iPad.

Those satellite images are really helpful in navigating around large abandoned places.

They show a lot of stuff that's not on any map.

It's wild to think that we're using spaceships to go around pokin' in places we're probably not supposed to go.

The first place we hit was the Joliet Correctional Center's abandoned shooting range.

Then we found our way in to the old rock crushing building.

This chair was there and it spooked the girls.

'Those bullet holes would be right where your heart was if you were sitting in that chair' one of them said.

'How could several of those bullets not go through that chair' she pointed out... 'they must have been slowed down by someone's body.'

I looked closer and several of the bullets didn't go through the metal back of the chair after all.

I shot this picture and moved on climbing an old rusty set of stairs to the second floor.

That's when we were startled to find out that we weren't alone there.

It was quite an exciting exit!

I hope you had an exciting weekend.

I'll be sharing more of our weekend with you soon including another video on youtube.

Rock the rest of your weekend like you mean it!

The first place we got to explore on our urbex outing on Sunday was the Joliet Correctional Center Firing Range.

It's an abandoned range where the guards from the Joliet Prison used to practice shooting from a tower much like the guard towers that they occupy at the prison.

There was a shipping container there and we got inside it where we found this human-like 'target.'

It's dressed in an orange jumpsuit that the prisoners wear and it's riddled with bullet holes.

It struck me as kind of eerie.

I've spent a couple of days at the Joliet Correctional Center in one of those jumpsuits and I've seen firsthand how the guards depersonalize the inmates.

Maybe they have to.

'Depersonalizing' the inmates is I guess understandable...

but 'personalizing' the target is kinda creepy to me.

Certainly they have to be proficient in shooting inmates should the need arise.

And the range offered them similar conditions as they worked in.

Seeing that jumpsuit riddled with holes hit me a little.

I hope you have a good time during this holiday season..Cheers.

For Macro Monday's "Smallest Devices." The scissors blade on my mini-Swiss knife is just over 1/2 an inch long. Yet, it trims my hefty thumbnail in one or two cuts..

#28 Pattern

A lot of stripes going on here in this red, black and white Halloween dress-up attire!

Ironically, I captured a Covid Screen Report on the TV!!!! Just saying.....

And we had the most brilliant time! Lots and lots of adventures happened to me! I losted all of my teeth almost, mum kept picking them up off the floor, she found FIVE! And I growed great big huge back teeth too! And I gotted some birds, and went running in the field, and chewed up bones and grocery bags and newspapers and stayed in a hotel and met all kinds of new dogs and puppies and everything! Mum took lots and lots of pictures too! I wanted to stay more!!!!! I like it there.

Oh and I am learning how to be a Paragon of Virtue too, like my new great friend and mentor, Viggo!

We went to an opening at my friend Pam's gallery on Friday night. These ceramic balls were hanging all over, and quite grabbed my attention. They are the creations of the talented young ceramic artist Arielle Casale Check her out! This photo does not do justice to the gallery or the work, but I still wanted to post. I plan to go back and shoot without all the people in the way :-)

Hi, Penny here, and we are home from visiting all of our friends at Evensong and Wabana. We had such fun, lots of running and playing and visiting and bones and toys and treats! It was so awesome to see all my old friends again and see the new puppies too, I wanted to play with them all. I'm glad to be home but I had the best time! I even got to visit a dog show! Mom has a bajillion pictures! But for now we are going to sleep!

Love,

Penny

Tonight was my bunko Christmas Party at Konomi's. My fortune actually said that now is a good time to start a new collection or hobby! Don't think so - I already have enough collections and hobbies. I need an extra 10 hours a day as it is. But, we did have a good time!
