Whenever I read one of those essential punk album lists there is usually a lot of obvious choices on it and a few dumb ones that should most probably be replaced, for example Rolling Stone Magazine has the Blink 182 album Enema of the State listed as #37, I’m not even trying to say Blink 182 is good or bad, I’m just saying you are fucking poser if you publicly admit to listening to Blink 182 or you are a dad that drives his kids to soccer practice in a Honda Odyssey… whatever, this wasn’t meant to bag of Blink 182, I saw them open up for Sick Of It All many years ago when they were called “BLINK” and I thought they were pretty good. I am also not trying to bag on dads, since I’m an old fat guy with two kids… my point is VICTIM IN PAIN should be one every essential PUNK album list, even if you think this record sucks you should have at least heard it, which I assume every punk has…
Victim in Pain is a perfect snap shot of the time when Hard Core was still more punk than metal. Short, fast songs that aren’t played so fast that they are unlistenable, yet are still unlistenable to your peers at school… Well, not if you are in school now, but if you are in your late 40’s this shit was probably unlistenable to authority figures and class mates. When I was a kid people listened to New Edition and I thought that shit sucked… funny, I just listened to a New Edition song and I realized I have never actually heard their music… the joys of being young and hating music without hearing it… Now that I am old I can hardly hate anything, but my miserable existence.
There is no need to describe what this album sounds like, because it is fucking awesome, & since the only good thing about me is my taste in music, you better believe it!

The creepy weird skinhead characters give this flyer a unique vibe. Looking at the other bands on the bill it makes you wonder if ever other decent band in NYC region were on vacation or something.

I just self-published a book. Over 100 pages on 12"x12" hardcover, like a coffeetable book. All flyers from punk hardcore shows 1977-2000. It is all about flyers, not cure words or memories ... the flyers say it all.
