Steep climbs in the preserve. Stairs have been built to make it easier. The whole area was pushed down by the ice during the last ice age, and has now risen again. The old waterline is at 109 meters height - and it is at this height that the potholes are found
Reproduction of a farm from the pre-Roman Iron Age (around 500 BC), as excavated by archaeologists during the construction of a motorway in the 1990s.
In addition to the main building, a pillared storehouse for secure storage and two outbuildings have been reconstructed. In one of them there is a massive domed baking oven. The gardens and farmland are secured by wattle fences.
In the reconstruction logs of oak wood were used in combination with clay plastered walls.

The reconstruction of the farmstead was completed at the end of 2001. Operator is the association "Eisenzeitliches Gehöft Ratingen".

what made all the difference
but I will tell you it is not
the road you take
heavily traveled
or lightly
but the attitude
and the company
you keep.
Built in the Iron Age, Dunbeg Fort is an impressive and elaborate example of a promontory fort. Its location makes it one of the most dramatic archaeological sites on the Dingle Peninsula. It is built on a sheer cliff which projects South into Dingle Bay, at the base of Mount Eagle on the Slea Head Road.

A few candids from a community centre for senior citizens, that the bean-counters of the local Tory council intend to close. This supports a campaign for it to remain open.
The New York State Department of Health is pleased to announce the five finalists for the Aging Innovation Challenge, a crowdsource competition developed in partnership with HeroX to generate innovative solutions to assist older adults and their caregivers in carrying out activities of daily living.
The Challenge was open to all undergraduate and graduate students attending a college or university in New York State. The finalists were narrowed down from a field of 24 semi-finalists, which were originally selected from 35 submissions.
Finalists made a 15-minute presentation demonstrating their prototype and how it will impact older adults and their caregivers. (Mike Wren/New York State Department of Health)
