Agility has gained tremendous popularity since it was introduced in the late 1970's as a filler event at the Crufts Dog Show in England. Agility is a team sport where the handler negotiates the dog through a course of obstacles to include a dog walk, teeter-totter, jumps, tunnels and weave poles.
The beauty of agility is that any healthy dog (or handler) can participate in the sport regardless of age, size and speed. Of course in competitive agility the objective is to complete the course correctly and as fast as possible. But for the more relaxed teams, it is fun and a great opportunity to strengthen the bond between yourself and your best friend.
Bud may lack speed and grace, but he definitely has the drive and has fun in the process.
Intercultural Life and Union Board presents Step Afrika. Step Afrika blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities, African traditional dance and influences from a variety of other dance and art forms. Performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique and leaves the audience with their hearts pounding.
