The remaining jetty, known as Raynes Jetty, pictured above, is owned by Cemex. It is used to export limestone aggregates directly from Raynes Quarry. A range of materials is available and products are sent to various locations in the UK and the near-continent for use in the construction and chemical industries. Vessels up to 5000 dwt are loaded.

Heading DBS' shiny new(ish) HKA Aggregate wagons, 66015 heads past Coedkernew as 6Z47 08:15 Wembley Euro Freight Terminal - Cardiff Tidal TC on the evening of 18/11/2014.

Aggregates liveried 59001 heads east through Kensington Olympia station with 7O45 on a rather chilly, but beautiful February day. Another happy day filming with dad whom is no longer with us, YT smilevideotrains should you like to see our films, thankyou

Quite a rare shot of two Aggregate Industries Dippers pictured side by side. 59005 is seen shunting wagons and passing the stabled 59002.

Aggregate Industries 59004 approaches Carpenters Road North junction with a Bow to Acton TC empty hopper train. A London Overground 378 emu just appearing on a service to Richmond.

I thought it might be interesting to capture this once a week working of loaded aggregate from Neath Abbey Wharf to Pengam sidings (6B75) seen at Pengam Junction, Cardiff, headed by GBRf 66750. It is interesting to note that the line to Cardiff Tidal sidings, Celsa steel works and Cardiff docks has been reduced to a single track since I was last here though it does branch further along.

Although synonymous for passenger services, Clapham Junction also sees regular freight traffic. One such flow is 4Y19 12:19 Mountfield Sidings - Southampton Western Docks, pictured on 05/7/2016 with 66714 "Cromer Lifeboat" in charge.

Aggregates liveried 66711 'Sense', heads north through Wellingborough whilst working 6F93, St Pancras Churchyard Castle Cement to Ketton Cement near Stamford. This location is currently in a business development area so unsure whether the shot will still be on as i upload May 2023

"Pyrite can take many different forms. The smallest aggregates sparkle in the light, and the largest crystals appear as fascinating perfect cubes, or in other equally interesting crystalline forms. This makes pyrite a particularly popular mineral with collectors.

A polymorph of Marcassite, pyrite has the same chemical formula but crystallises in a different system. In certain forms, the two minerals can be confused.

Pyrite is sometimes called "fool's gold" because of its resemblance to the precious metal. At the time of the gold rush, many researchers thought they had made a fortune, only to find that their discovery was in fact pyrite and not gold. Some went mad...

Pyrite is nonetheless a magnificent mineral, both aesthetically and energetically. It has the particularity of being very difficult to photograph, because it reflects the colours of the surface on which it is placed. If it is placed on black, the photo will be dull, and on white pyrite will be greyish.

Pyrite takes its name from the Greek "Pyros" meaning fire, as it produces sparks when clashed with iron or another mineral."

DB red 60017 is seen here descending the 1 in 104 grade towards Melksham as it passes Lacock with the 6C48 14:59 Appleford to Whatley train of empty aggregate box wagons.

Although the locomotive was nominally the designated Westbury out-based shunt locomotive, traction shortages meant that this was its third consecutive day out on the mainline with this working. 29/07/16.

'Aggregate Industires' liveried GBRf 66711 'Sence' passes Wapley sidings as it approaches Westerleigh Junction with 6V79 1156 Angerstein Wharf to Pengam stone empties on 13th April 2016.

A nice way to round off the night's shooting was 66711, resplendant in Aggregate Industries livery. Seen drawing into the possession with 6Z62 ex Wellingborough.

Much more like it! DCR Class 56 no. 56091 'Driver Wayne Gaskell' passes Nooning Lane, Draycott, with a rake of empty aggregates box wagons in tow. The working was 4Z30 the 14:11 Brandon Down Goods to Chaddesden. As good as it looks, I can assure you it sounded even better.

A not particularly busy Ratcliffe Power Station can be seen looming in the distance, I wonder how many tonnes of coal 56091 supplied Ratcliffe with over the years...

Aggregate plant, Leaside, Toronto.

Non-transforming, I'm afraid. Her engine block and drive shaft forms her hammer, her bucket splits in three (two become her heels and the other rests on her shoulders), the cab forms her rear armor and the back bumper becomes her chest.

ODC - A is for.

There is a viewing point into this quarry on a walk I do with the dogs at Haughmond. One of the things that always strikes me about the place is that given the amount of noise, dust, machinery, you see very few people working, just the odd truck loading.
