Two ageing class 315 units sit side by side at Liverpool Street on 9th December 2020.
Not gone yet....but not long to go for these BREL Derby stalwarts, now some 40 years old. These TfL examples are employed M-F mainly on Shenfield services.
Stuck over on the far side of the station were 315826 & 315843 with 2W52 1000 departure to Shenfield whilst 315 838 & 315847 departed shortly after the shot was taken on 5C48 0953 ECS to Gidea Park CS.
The sets couldn't have been more symetrically parked if you tried - they were centimetre perfect alongside each other!
The hydrangeas in my garden are slowly fading but this particular blue one has some fantastic colours and tones in the decaying flowers.
Youth is a gift of nature, but age is a work of art. Stanislaw Jerzy Lec Ageing isn't always pretty but the alternative ain't such an attractive idea either LOL!
And today i figured out how to change the date on the new-to-me camera - but i've done something which made it impossible to focus... Shot with the old camera that I've mastered.
It’s 9pm which means Love Island is on and therefore time to go watch some paint dry, clean the litter tray or maybe have a look at a Cornish cathedral!
The music I link is usually something I actually listen to unless it that abysmal offering from Clint and tonight’s probably wouldn’t make it on to one of my playlists but it’s the perfect example of why Elmer Fudd shouldn't be encouraged to venture into a recording studio.
Ageing is even a more complicated issue for gurls like us... In our heads we see ourselves as beautiful and blossomed women, but the devilish camera often shows us the bare and sad truth of our (well at least mine) situation :((
The male features are not helping at all... Damn !! ;)
This shot was taken during a nice cam session, with really educated viewers and some creepy ones (that's the fun part). It wasn't awkward at all, maybe I shall do it more in the future :D
Hope you're all doing well
Kisses sisters
P.S Too bad you can't see the shoes, they are killers :)

... in ceramic, but the glasses are no longer worn by yours truly. This object is actually designed for putting one's glasses on. It saves time looking for them.
Quite a 'spectacle'.
Preserved steam locomotive 1369 GWR 0-6-0PT of South Devon Railway, based at Buckfastleigh Station. The 1366 class of GWR locomotives was built for dock shunting to replace ageing Cornwall Mineral Railway locomotives. They kept many of the features of the older locomotives including the Allan straight link valve gear. There were six engines of the 1366 class, numbered 1366 - 1371. 1369 is the sole survivor.
Large Banksia serrata mature flower spikes (inflorescences) about 200mm long each terminating its supporting branch. Seed pods eventually bulge from the mature spike and are often beautifully coloured. The nectar of these flowers is sought out by numerous native insects, birds mammals and marsupials.

Ageing is not only a western problem. People in developing countries are getting older too. Pensions or home care services do not exist in most of these countries. Children are expected to take care of their parents. But nowadays the family circles are getting disrupted. Migration, urbanization, wars and the aids-epidemic take their toll. Many older people have to rely on themselves and as a result, they live in extreme poverty.
Besides that, more and more children are depending on their grandfather or grandmother in terms of care and finance.
On one of my travels to Zambia, I saw the strong women, who took care of their children.
Meet: Elika, 60 years, takes care of 8 children, Esther, 72 years, takes care of 1 child, husband and 3 children died of aids, Katerina, 60 years, lost 4 children, takes care of 9 children.
Love me when I'm old and shocking
Peel off my elastic stockings
Swing me from the chandeliers
Let's be randy bad old dears
Push around my chromed Bath Chair
Let me tease your white chest hair
Scaring children, swapping dentures
Let us have some great adventures.
Take me to the Dogs and Bingo
Teach me how to speak the lingo
Bone my eels and bring me tea
Show me how it's meant to be
Take me to your special places
Watching all the puzzled faces
You in shorts and socks and sandals
Me with warts and huge love-handles.
As the need for love enthrals
Wrestle with my dampproof smalls
Make me laugh without constraint
Buy me chocolate body paint
Hold me safe throughout the night
When my hair has turned to white
Believe me when I say it's true
I've waited all my life for you.

What is the worst of woes that wait on age?
What stamps the wrinkle deeper on the brow?
To view each loved one blotted from life's page,
And be alone on earth, as I am now.

This image by Sriram Sir inspired me a lot.
Yarrow Broomrape / Violette Sommerwurz / Orobancha purpurea in a hot summer meadow … The ageing of a flower, revealing further its full beauty has always been for me something very special, matching closely the Japanese aesthetic concept of "Wabi-Sabi" ...
