So, My big ol' Daily Bugle totally collapsed before it could be exhibited last time; so I'm rebuilding it.
And, as I didn't get enough Work-in-progress shots last time, here's a quick peek at the beginnings of the Diner (this section folds out, and had survived relatively well)
Oh, and do you know how frustrating it is to make a MOC that incorporates both a Diner and a Gym right before LEGO announces a modular that has exactly that in it? So now I'm torn about whether I shuld change it, or just accept every second viewer asking "Is that the set?" ahh, #AFOLlife
The Brickman has a new exhibition blasting off, The Brickman Awesome Exhibition and it really is awesome.
This model in particular is a record breaker, tallest LEGO model in the southern hemisphere. So tall in fact, it doesn't quite fit in the room, and needed last minute adjustments to make it work.

I finally got some photos of this orc. It is loosely based on Grommash Hellscream from World of Warcraft (of which I have honestly never played- but orcs are awesome regardless). Someday if I ever have the finances to justify buying all the necessary parts I'll build out his full body, but for now this is a bust of an orc. I used my technique of putting the mini-fig eyeball heads in helmets upside down to achieve the intense eyes of this beast and a vast majority of parts came from the LEGO t-rex Jurassic Park set. I have come to absolutely love dark tan as a color through this build. It is my most stable build to date and is pretty robust throughout. I hope you like this orc.

This took roughly 27 hrs to build and is my largest and heaviest bust to date at over 25 inches tall! The head is pretty close to a human adult head. Here is a build inspired by a random post I saw on IG one day and is for the monthly challenge build for my RLUG, Sacramento Brick Builders @sac_bb
After much hard work this literally crashed right before the first photo (something some of my fellow AFOLs can relate to). Thankfully I was able to rebuild what was essentially the worst crash I've ever had with a build so if the photos aren't the best, it is because I had to rush to capture what I could just in case. Unfortunately the bunny is not as stable as he was prior to his fall. I must have missed a piece or two to be honest.

The Brickman is returning to Melbourne and his new exhibition is about to blast off.
Last night, my younger son and I enjoyed a VIP tour with the man himself, including a sneak peek of the awesome new creations and some great building fun.
We started with a delightful afternoon tea, which was followed by some creative building challenges. I had a great time building with Sandy and her girls from Mamma Knows (www.mammaknowssouth.com.au) Aqua-Wolf is the hero this world needs, thank you. And a special shout-out to Jay from www.jaysbrickblog.com for his very impressive tower building skills.
Then we enjoyed a guided tour by the Brickman himself, Ryan McNaught. No spoilers, but I gotta say, the creations on display are amazingly awesome. This is what world class LEGO building looks like and Ryan continues to lift the bar. I have included a number of photos but the exhibition really is something that needs to be experienced in person to get the full effect. My only regret is that it was over all too soon.

Troll BustI finished another bust with time to spare before Brickpalooza (if you want to see this and my other builds it will be at Brickpalooza in Roseville, CA on the 12 and 13th of November). This took roughly 27 hrs to build and is my largest and heaviest bust to date at over 25 inches tall! The head is pretty close to a human adult head. It pairs well with my Orc bust and the Dwarf in my pseudo-World of Warcraft-inspired builds. I hope you like it! I finally got some photos of this orc. It is loosely based on Grommash Hellscream from World of Warcraft (of which I have honestly never played- but orcs are awesome regardless). Someday if I ever have the finances to justify buying all the necessary parts I'll build out his full body, but for now this is a bust of an orc. I used my technique of putting the mini-fig eyeball heads in helmets upside down to achieve the intense eyes of this beast and a vast majority of parts came from the LEGO t-rex Jurassic Park set. I have come to absolutely love dark tan as a color through this build. It is my most stable build to date and is pretty robust throughout. I hope you like this orc.

Here is a build inspired by a random post I saw on IG one day and is for the monthly challenge build for my RLUG, Sacramento Brick Builders @sac_bb
After much hard work this literally crashed right before the first photo (something some of my fellow AFOLs can relate to). Thankfully I was able to rebuild what was essentially the worst crash I've ever had with a build so if the photos aren't the best, it is because I had to rush to capture what I could just in case. Unfortunately the bunny is not as stable as he was prior to his fall. I must have missed a piece or two to be honest.
