This is my first try with Flaming Pear's Aetherize filter. It is a pretty amazing tool that can yield a very wide range of effects. I have yet to understand the imaging principles behind it, but I plan to read more about it when I can. It is definitely keying in on the light and shading in the photo.
Flaming Pear are the folks who brought us the ubiquitous Flood filter.

"This year’s Winter Lights is a new work specially created for Canary Wharf by Aether & Hemera, a partnership of architect Claudio Benghi and lighting artist Gloria Ronchi.
Enlivening Middle Dock during the dark winter months, ‘Voyage’ consists of 300 floating “paper boats”, illuminated from within by coloured LED lights that come alive between around dusk and 2am putting on a spectacular light show. The installation is an interactive experience that people can engage with from their mobile phones."

this is for the eventual steampunk gun I am building for my halloween costume this year. I am going as a Royal Academie Aether Prospector, basically a woman who is a tinker-head who got sent out into the field to help map the Luminiferous Realm.

Traditional headdress from a region in Holland. It looks like they have "antennas" on their heads, like a cargo cult for antique devices.
