Well, fall is winding down here, cold weather and rain to come. All the leaves have gone, dried up and turned brown. It will be back in the house for me for shots most likely until spring. This is the season where I have to force myself to be more creative, find things indoors that inspire me. I can't say I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I can keep the creative juices flowing. I need to be on my "A" game for my 25 days of Christmas 2020! Wish me luck!

Neige immaculée,

Sous mes pas, un doux silence,

L’azur s’étend loin.

Pristine snow untouched,

Soft silence beneath my steps,

Blue sky stretches far.

A challenging but rewarding journey into Bryce Canyon's heart with views that feel like another world

Two souls suspended between heaven and earth, walking towards the fading light of day.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."

"I don't much care where –"

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

“The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams.”

― Oprah Winfrey

PS - I was so excited to play in the puddles that I didn't realize I'd already used the "adventure awaits" phrase. Oh well, I could use some more adventures in my life.

“Walking through Valle de la Luna feels like stepping onto another planet 🌙✨

Silence, vastness, and landscapes sculpted by time itself.”

Neige immaculée,

Silence pur sous mes pas,

Le ciel touche l'âme.

Pristine snow glistens,

Silent steps in powdered dreams,

Sky and soul embrace.

Finding peace in the cascades of North Bengal's hidden gem, the Rohini Waterfall. Where nature's beauty meets the wild spirit of the Leopard Waterfall, creating an unforgettable escape🙏💚😊

Situated between Siliguri and Kurseong, it's a popular natural attraction in North Bengal.

We had to walk through the water sometimes in knee deep conditions to reach our boat .

Take a leisurely venture to the iconic Phra Nang Cave Beach. A fascinating shrine honors the Princess Goddess, Phra Nang, at this sacred site. The beach itself is a veritable paradise, boasting powdery white sand and pristine waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

I visited this in 2012

Dhuandhar Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The name "Dhuandhar" comes from the Hindi word "Dhuan," meaning smoke, as the water of the falls creates a misty spray, giving the appearance of smoke rising from the falls. The waterfall is a part of the Narmada River, one of India's most significant rivers.

Height and Flow: The waterfall cascades down from a height of around 30 meters (98 feet) with great force, creating a majestic sight.

Location: It is situated within the Kanha National Park, a popular tourist destination in Madhya Pradesh. The falls are located around 25 kilometers (16 miles) from Jabalpur, a city known for its historical and natural attractions.

Hundru Falls, Ranchi

This is not much of a waterfall to admire in December as water was less compared to rainy season . Located about 45 km away from the city. Access to the waterfall is ardous as one has to climb down and climb up a flight of 1100 stairs. Its extremely tiresome doing the flight of stairs.

Railay Beach is a paradise for rock climbers, and it did not disappoint! The towering limestone cliffs offer incredible climbs with breathtaking views. Visited in October empty mostly as it was still raining time, but the stunning scenery and turquoise waters made it worthwhile. A must-visit for adventure seekers!

A speedboat cuts through the calm waters of Patratu Lake – a glimpse of Sarovar Vihar’s vibrant charm, captured in December 2022.

Tucked away just 35 km from Ranchi, Sarovar Vihar—also known as Patratu Lake Resort—is a serene escape where the calm waters of Patratu Dam reflect the hues of the sky and the laughter of travelers. Here, mornings start with mist rising off the lake, and days are spent gliding across the water in motorboats and pedal boats, with the green hills standing guard like silent companions.

In the crisp winter of December 2022, a speedboat raced across the still expanse of Patratu Lake, leaving behind a frothy trail that shimmered under the soft afternoon sun. This moment, frozen in time, captured the essence of Sarovar Vihar—a perfect balance of tranquility and thrill nestled in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district, just 35 km from Ranchi.

Set against the backdrop of forested hills and the vast Patratu Dam, the resort has long been a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Boating of all kinds—pedal boats, motorboats, and cruise rides—draws crowds year-round. But by May 2025, the absence of the resort’s signature cruise boats, still stationed in Prayagraj after the Mahakumbh festival, has left a noticeable void.

Yet, the spirit of Sarovar Vihar endures. The photo from that December day reminds visitors of the lake’s timeless allure—where even a single speeding boat brings life to the water, echoing joy across the valley.

What is your favorite way to travel? When my older kids were young we did a lot of rv camping, got out often and explored the mountains on the weekends. We haven't done much camping with my youngest, opting for adventures around our town and longer vacations by plane now. I think it's time to start some new outdoor adventures. Want to join me? Where will you go?

I still have quite a few photos to go through from our very fun trip to Monument Valley, but I couldn't hold off looking at this one any longer.

This was a very special moment for me. I had been battling some very debilitating leg pain for several months and I was really worried I wasn't going to be able to fully experience this bucket list trip. I hadn't touched my camera for a long time. But, this morning I began to feel sooo much better. I'm not sure if it was the camera in my hand or the magic of this amazing place, but from this moment on I was on the mend. Probably the magic
