The Whisky Exchange Show. It doesnât really need any goddamned intro but Iâm gonna give you one anyway. A three day whisky mecca, this year held at Old Billingsgate near Monument, TWE Show is THE place to be if you take your drams seriously. And if you have some cash weighing your wallet down/the need to consume spirits that probably cost a lot more than they should (or both).
On offer? Masterclasses (you pay for some of these) on things related the subject of whisky - i.e âthe science of whiskyâ, cigar and whisky pairings, Laphroaigâs â200 years of peatâ and a tasting of the eyewateringly dear (yet fucking amazing) Mortlach 75yo âGenerationsâ. Also food pairings - Ibericos de Huelva, matching up delicious Jamon Iberico with ALL THE DRAMS, something called âThe Chocolate Experienceâ (and that does much the same thing), and La Fromagerie - that deli that specialises in cheese, also matching up said cheese with all the drams.
