The Rhône Glacier (German: Rhonegletscher/ Valais German: "Rottengletscher") is a glacier in the Swiss Alps and the source of the river Rhône and one of the primary contributors to Lake Geneva in the far eastern end of the Swiss canton of Valais. Because the Glacier is located close to the Furka Pass road it is easily accessible.

The Rhône Glacier is the largest glacier in the Urner Alps. It lies on the south side of the range at the source of the Rhône. The Undri Triftlimi (3,081 m) connects it to the Trift Glacier. The glacier is located on the northernmost part of the canton of Valais, between the Grimsel Pass and the Furka Pass and is part of the Oberwald municipality. The Dammastock (3,630 m) is the highest summit above the glacier.

Furka Pass (el. 2429 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting Gletsch, Valais with Realp, Uri. The Furka-Oberalp-Bahn line through the Furka Tunnel bypasses the pass. The base tunnel opened in 1982 and replaced a tunnel at 2100 m.

The Furka Pass was used as a location in the James Bond film Goldfinger.

Der Furkapass ist ein 2'429 m ü. M. hoher Schweizer Strassenpass in den Alpen. Er verbindet das Urserental (das obere Tal der Reuss) im Kanton Uri mit dem Bezirk Goms im Kanton Wallis. Auf ihm verläuft die Europäische Wasserscheide zwischen Mittelmeer und Nordsee.

Der Name stammt vom lateinischen furca, womit eine zweizinkige Gabel bezeichnet wurde.

Le col de la Furka est un col des Alpes suisses culminant à 2 429 mètres d'altitude. Il permet de relier la vallée du Rhône à Andermatt. Le col est le quatrième plus haut col routier des Alpes suisses.

Sur le versant ouest, la route du col passe à quelques centaines de mètres du glacier du Rhône, source du fleuve du même nom, et permet de le découvrir depuis un promontoire. Sur le versant ouest, jusqu'à Gletsch (1 753 m), la route du col de la Furka est la même que celle du col du Grimsel.

Le col s'élève entre les Alpes uranaises et les Alpes lépontines, au cœur du massif du Saint-Gothard.

La route a été ouverte en 1867."

Pharaoh stops and stares to see if his childish antics still get my attention and admiration. It does. How could it not? His showing off running kicking up dirt then abruptly stopping to stare at me is our game. He smiles ever so slightly then runs off again taking coy peaks at me. Smart and strong of spirit he has over come some emotional and physical pain of a previous adoption gone wrong. Back in the herd of his gypsy family and loving mom he is his happy and content.

To be as successful as Johnathan Jefferson LaVeaux means to first have your true priorities straight. The priorities that all good citizens should use as their only guide post. THE HOLY TRINITY of PRIORITIES! Say it with me Kids!!! ONE...WORK, your J-O-B. TWO...YOUR CHURCH. And THREE...YOUR FAMILY. That's right. And the world's favorite man about the Planet is a shining example, a real man who holds these priorities faithfully. For that he has earned his success and he deserves our undying respect and admiration.

No man seems to work at his job more. Johnny's involvement with his Church has been the driving factor in taking them from a small local group to a HUGE International Movement...and all you have to do is look at the prosperity, the life style and the smiling faces of every member of Johnny's Family and extended Family to know how loving and attentive of a patriarch the man truly is. Yet somehow after all the time he gives, once in a great while he gets some Johnny time to do something for himself....
