Now is the time for all Americans to work together!!! Together we stand, divided we fall!!! This has been such a wonderful day in America's history!!!! I send prayers and best wishes to our new President!!!!! I took a shot from my husbands photo's, one of mine a peace symbol and a crop from Life magazine and layered them to create this shot.
Trump doesn't like the fact that some provisions of the Iran nuclear treaty expire in seven years, so he backs out of it, which means those provisions expire immediately. What a mental dwarf! It's really only because the treaty was negotiated under the Obama administration, sorta like the ACA.
Let's be very clear: It's one thing to say a peace treaty is bad. It's very much another to rip it apart with no better idea, no plan, no negotiation, no expertise, no allies and no ultimate goal except perhaps starting another serious conflict -- and that's already happening. The guy is an idiot, that thinks he's a genius.
In most cases, I am more than happy to let worthy and humane organizations use my work. If you'd like to use one of my images, simply leave me a comment or contact me via Flickr Mail. Please ask.
The administration office... - Built in the 17th century, acquired 20 years later to act as the central office for the steel industry. This large building, which has been expanded several times over the years, is now empty and abandoned. The main building is quite large and what remains is a large L-shaped structure spread over 3 floors and a large basement. Abandoned since 1986.

After missing the first two days of Texans training camp before agreeing to a five-year, $14 million contract Saturday, outside linebacker Brian Cushing is eager to get on the practice field today with his new teammates.
Cushing, the first-round draft choice from Southern California, is getting $10.435 million in guaranteed money to become the starter on the strong side and help improve a defense that ranked 22nd last season, including 23rd against the run.
“I’m just relieved and excited to have this done,” Cushing said. “I’m ready to play football and help the team win.”
Cushing (6-3, 262) was in Los Angeles when agent Tom Condon reached the agreement with general manager Rick Smith and director of football administration Chris Olsen.
Cushing’s contract could be worth a maximum of $18 million over five years.
In the fifth year of his deal, there’s a clause that could earn him an additional $4 million in an escalator bonus.
Odds are that Cushing’s contract will be extended before he enters the fifth season in 2013.
Smith and Olsen will have all eight of their draft choices under contract when the Texans take the field for the third day of two-a-day drills at their Methodist Training Center.
“It’s very important to have him signed,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “Rick and Chris were up at 3 in the morning trying to get it done. They’ve done a good job.
“Brian’s two days behind now, but he didn’t miss anything we did in the offseason program, so that’s a good thing. He wanted to be here while we were working on the contract, but he couldn’t.”
Rookies who have signed with the Texans report a week early for conditioning and meetings before practicing for the first time with the veterans. Cushing wanted to report with the rookies.
He was working out at Reliant Stadium last week when the Texans had to explain league rules that forced him to leave.
Cushing took what turned out to be a quick trip back to Los Angeles. He returned to Houston on Saturday afternoon.
Texans coaches are excited to get him on the practice field.
“We’re going to put the pads on (Sunday morning), and I know he’s chomping at the bit to get out there,” Kubiak said.
After the Texans used the 15th pick in the first round on Cushing, they inserted him into the starting lineup. He impressed his coaches in the organized team activities and minicamp.
“We like his presence on the ball,” Kubiak said, meaning Cushing has a knack for finding the ball and making plays. “He’s playing over the tight end, and we’re going to ask him to do a great deal. We think he can handle it.
“Brian’s very athletic. He’s physical against the run. He can rush the passer. He can drop into coverage. We brought him here for a reason, and we’re going to put him to work real fast.”
Frank Bush, who is in his first season as defensive coordinator, has to make calls that maximize Cushing’s strengths. The faster Cushing learns, the quicker Bush plans to utilize all his talent.
“We’re going to try to take advantage of all his talent,” Bush said. “Because he’s such a talented kid, there are a lot of things we can do with him.”
The coaches say they think Cushing has everything it takes to become a star at his position.
“Brian can turn and run with the tight end,” Bush said. “He’s big and strong enough to strike them at the line of scrimmage and nullify some of their speed down the field, so we’re comfortable with him in coverage.
“His ability also gives us a chance to be aggressive toward the quarterback. He’s a big guy who’s shown he can get there.”
The Sault Canal opened in 1895- - it was the world’s first electrically operated lock, and the world’s longest lock- -274 metres / 899 feet long and 18 metres / 59 feet wide. Closed in 1987 due to a lock wall collapse, the canal was reconstructed and reopened for recreational boating use in 1998. The Sault Canal is operated as a National Historic Site by Parks Canada.
Administration Building
The Administration building was built from local Jacobsville sandstone, quarried from the canal's construction; the building was built in the Second Empire architectural style: contrasting stone working lintels, quoins, and a mansard roof.
The Junior Livestock Building was constructed in 1937 as one of the Great Depression-era federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. In 1997, the building was renamed in honor of Orion Samuelson, a retired radio broadcaster who was heard on WGN radio in Chicago for sixty years as the station's head agriculture broadcaster from 1960 through 2020.
This view looking toward the south shows the huge livestock barn. The livestock barn has two levels with 1,100 cattle ties in the lower level and 765 pens in the upper level. Inside are two shows rings of 7,200 and 5,400 square feet.

The French colonial administration of Indochina was determined to exploit the Mekong River to aid a route into China, and in doing so help counter British colonial expansion in Upper Burma. ... However, the key obstacle lay in southern Laos, where at Siphandon Islands, the river splits into numerous channels forming formidable rapids collectively known as the Khon (or Khone) Falls. Attempts in 1891, 1892, and 1893 to scale the falls failed; there are accounts of steamships ‘engines roaring and boilers near bursting, with hundreds of men hauling from the rocks on ropes and others pushing from the decks with pikes’ ...
Thus, alternatives modes of transport had to be found. One idea came in the form of a British tidal expert resident in Siam, Herbert Warington Smyth, who suggested, perhaps half-cynically, that a tramway ... should be built around the falls. The latter, he reckoned, ‘would satisfactorily cripple the French economy (Source: Wikipedia).
Well, the French did just that, building boat landings south and north of the falls and connectiong both by a railraod.
I found no source of the factual impact of this adventure on the French economy yet a nice description of how it was to travel with that steam engine in the middle of deep jungles:
The train, struggling and grating amid the clashing sound of steel, hauled us across the island, which is covered by teak trees and bamboos whose branches brushed our faces. The temperature was very high and the sun, filtering through the trees, roused noxious fever-vapours from the tangled undergrowth. Sweat caked my hair under my sun hat; the heat burned my arms through my clothes; and the mosquitoes took advantage of my predicament to attack me as they pleased, all over my hands and face…
