Wainman's Pinnacle in light of setting sun.

The monument was built in 1816 by Richard Wainman, a local landowner with oodles of money to celebrate the victory at Waterloo and, more sombrely, the death of his son in the Napoleonic wars.

Wainman's Pinnacle is also known locally as "salt & pepper pot" by it's shape.
