First past the post

Reading the Form

Jesse was a bit late, missed the skipper's meeting, and had to hustle to make the start of the first race. This is him getting ready to launch his kite on the beach with the help of Steve, who was standing next to me with the kite. Jesse's still rehabbing his ankle which he broke a month or two ago. Didn't stop him from racing though. =D

#3 explains the courses for the days races (which buoys to go around, where to start and finish) and the rules (I overheard a bit about who gets right of way to prevent line entanglement, but didn't catch the rest).

It's interesting to note that everyone races together in these bi-weekly races, meaning women and men of all ages compete against one another. Here, you can just see a female competitor at left in blue (just behind the man in red), and I think there was a second woman who raced as well. And there are definitely some guys in their forties and fifties mixing it up with the youngsters.

Is that an EF300mm 2.5 or are you just happy to see me?

BTW: Crop suggestions welcome.
