Acton Park is a two minute walk from my house in Wrexham. I don't know why I don't go more often. This was taken this morning on my pre-breakfast walk with Becky.
Four UP road diesels twist and turn on the north end of Soledad canyon with a Brooklyn, OR - Los Angeles, CA container train approaching the Soledad Canyon Rd overpass. I’ve had the hair on the back of my neck stand as the lions and tigers roared while shooting passing trains on the overpass situated next to Roar Foundation’s Shambala Preserve big cat refuge.
The rear DPU on this ZLCLT can be seen off in the distance as UP 1982 and its EMD brethren round a big curve while climbing toward the summit at Vincent just 3 1/2 miles ahead.
Recent winter storms brought snow to the San Gabriel Mountains that rise behind UP’s daily ZLCLT seen cresting Vincent Hill’s summit on the old SP Saugus line.

Against all the odds the skies cleared mid afternoon and instead of a cloudy record shot I got one in sun right at the death, luckily 56098 was running 30 minutes early despite it getting looped beyond the bridge while a shed overtook it so with a sun angle of 5 degrees instead of 2 if it ran to time I came away pleased with this.

Whilst it looks nice, 024 doesn't seem to be particularly popular with those driving it who have on a few occasions said it's a bag of spanners whilst changing over at WBQ.
The Keolis Fiber Optic train is seen eastbound at South Acton, MA. The 2 Precision Leasing locomotives have been contracted to Keolis by McCourt Construction to bury fiber optic lines on the North Side. Thanks to photoshop, the powerline that normally obstructs this view was removed.
