These three bears, once masters of this icy environment, no longer recognize their territory. The shrinking sea ice has reduced their opportunities to hunt seals, their main food source. These changes are forcing them to adopt new survival strategies, such as resting more to conserve energy. However, even these efforts are not enough to compensate for the daily caloric loss they suffer.
In the face of these challenges, the bears seem to symbolize a silent but powerful call for the protection of their habitat. Their daily struggle draws attention to the devastating effects of climate change not only on biodiversity but also on humanity itself. Scientists and environmental organizations use the iconic image of polar bears to raise awareness and encourage concrete action against global warming.
In this way, these three polar bears are reluctant activists for a greater cause. Their struggle to survive in a rapidly changing world is a poignant reminder of the urgent need to act to preserve our planet and its vulnerable inhabitants.

Left-wing activists have projected a giant image of Elon Musk doing a gesture that has been likened to a Nazi salute alongside the word “heil” on to Tesla’s Berlin factory.
Germany’s Centre for Political Beauty and the UK group Led By Donkeys beamed a photo of Mr Musk with his arm outstretched, which he did at a Trump rally on Monday night, on to the nine-metre-high building on Wednesday night.
They also projected the words “heil” and “boycott” alongside the large Tesla logo, as if to read “heil Tesla” or “boycott Tesla”.

Alv.org.au: "Our most important work is promoting veganism as the ethical, rational, and earth friendly lifestyle that it is. We believe this is the most important thing we can do for animals. Our Vegan Easy campaign has helped tens of thousands of people kick start a more compassionate life with the 30 Day Vegan Easy Challenge. We have distributed hundreds of thousands of postcards, booklets and leaflets to the public and carry out weekly vegan outreach events."

Macarena Valdés Muñoz
Born: Hualañé, Maule Region, Chile – 23/12/1983
Died: Tranguil, Panguipulli, Los Ríos Region, Chile – 22/08/2016
Macarena Valdés was a Chilean Mapuche environmental and human rights activist known for her steadfast opposition to the construction of hydroelectric projects on the Tranguil River. Born in Hualañé, she spent much of her life in Santiago before moving in 2014 with her partner Rubén Collío and their children to the Mapuche community of Newen‑Tranguil in southern Chile, where they lived according to their cultural and spiritual values and defended their ancestral territory
In the Newen‑Tranguil area, the Austrian company RP Global Chile Energías Renovables S.A., together with the Chilean company SAESA, had begun constructing a hydroelectric plant on the Tranguil River, resulting in the felling of native forests and the flooding of ancestral cemeteries (eltuwe). Valdés and Collío became key figures in the community’s resistance to the project, organizing demonstrations, road blockades, and formal complaints about environmental violations and the lack of required legal permits. On 1 August 2016, the community blocked national route CH‑201 near the Argentina border in protest against the project.
On the afternoon of 22 August 2016, Valdés was last seen alive before she was due to attend a medical appointment and catch a bus for her young child. Her 11‑year‑old son later found her body hanging from a rope in her home in Tranguil. Initial investigations by the Chilean police, the Forensic Medical Service, and the local prosecutor’s office concluded that she had died by suicide. However, her family and the Newen community rejected this explanation due to the threats she had received related to her activism.
In 2018, a forensic doctor hired by Valdés’ family raised serious doubts about the suicide ruling, noting that the absence of vital injuries to her neck suggested she may have already been dead when she was suspended, and recommending further autopsy. Following these expert analyses, the case was reclassified from “suicide” to “discovery of a corpse,” and questions remain about the involvement of third parties in her death.
Her death sparked public outcry and condemnation from human rights organizations and environmental groups, who argued that she was killed in connection with her opposition to the hydroelectric project. Activist campaigns such as #FueHomicidio and #ALaNegraLaMataron have been used to demand justice and highlight the risks faced by environmental defenders. Macarena Valdés is seen by many as part of a broader pattern of violence against activists defending land, water, and indigenous rights in Latin America, similar to other murdered activists such as Berta Cáceres and Marielle Franco. I publish this series of characters to awaken consciences and reveal injustices committed by those in power against courageous individuals. Each story aims to remind the public, especially young people, that the people must be aware of their rights, that injustices must not be forgotten, and that remembering history can inspire acts of courage, solidarity, and resistance. These individuals paid with their lives for standing up to defend truth, freedom, and human rights.
Arefa is taking a gap year. Her mother said to her during her year off it was time to learn to cook. Her Dad said to mum " leave her alone she is very busy been an activist".
Arefa has recently returned from Sydney where she attended the Action Lab.
Arefa lives in Waikerie and came to Australia when she was 14 with her family. When she arrived she couldn't speak english so the internet became her life line as she found an online community that spoke her language.
Up until year 11 Arefa didnt have any Aussie friends, when she moved to Adelaide she was forced to make new friends and learn more about the Aussie culture and language and she said "that it wasn't hard as it seems". As soon as she got involved with Vision Generation it all came together very fast. She belives this is because she gained alot of self confidence as she became more comfortable in her own skin.
Arefa is very passionate about making a difference. Her goal is to become the Youth Representitive for the United Nations in Australia.

Last Saturday I was a delegate to our district and precinct convention for my party. In Texas we organize our parties on the basis of our State Senate districts and subdivide those by our neighborhood voting precincts. Even though my State Senator is a dumb RepUGLYcan woman who keeps voting against women's reproductive rights and women's pay equality, we Democrats of Senate District 17 organize within the highly gerrymandered boundaries of her office's territory (and hope to unseat her).
This is my second time at one of these conventions, so I had a better idea of what to expect. Our meeting place was in a local middle school. As soon as I found a seat in my precinct's row, I waited for my neighbors to arrive, and I especially wanted to meet my new Precinct Captain. I gave him my name, email address, and phone#, and said, "I'm here to help you get out the vote and happen to be a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar." He introduced me to his husband, and another guy recognized me from the monthly dinners we have at our apartment complex. I was chosen to be Precinct Secretary.
One of the things we delegates did was listen to current officeholders and candidates and approve party resolutions. Our party's candidate for County Commissioner happens to be a TS woman I met at a TG support group meeting back in 1997. Right now she is a Precinct Captain. Another Precinct Captain I ran into is a TS woman that I met at that very same group meeting in '97. She was very active in the campaign to elect Houston's first openly lesbian City Councilwoman who went on to become City Controller (chief financial officer) and Mayor of Houston for three terms.
Why are TS women like me and gay men like my Precinct Captain active in the politics of the Democratic Party? Because the other party has issued written statements in their national and state platform that they wish to halt and reverse our civil rights. The RepUGLYcan Party of today is not the one my parents voted for when they were alive. It has become HATEFUL to people of color (unless they are rich), gays, lesbians, transgender people, immigrants, and those not of certain supposedly "Christian" sects. They openly say they want to take away my right to live and work as myself and marry the one I love. Some of them have stated that they want to kill all of us, and the former party of Lincoln does not repudiate those statements. Nowadays many of them wave the flag of the treasonous slave states.
I wore a rainbow colored dress to symbolize diversity. To those T-girls who mistakenly still support the RepUGLYcan Party: I dare you to show up en femme at a GOP event and openly state you are transgender. You would likely get beaten up or thrown out unless you are rich and famous, and your car would be vandalized.
