If one were to wade into the watery landscape it may be be deep enough to reach one's beltline. That is the height above the museum floor that the scene is built for. Discretely placed speakers loop an audio soundscape of birds and insects. The illuminated panels that separate visitors from the display give clear close-up views of the creatures in the display to look for, along with text to give some details of their lives in the wild.
The large glassy bubble surrounded by a ring of images and brief identification of elements embedded in the bubble all belong to "one drop of pond water" here magnified big enough for the small creatures to be visible with the unaided eye.

The walls of the Lake Sturgeon room are filled with engaging displays: video, life-size elements, info-graphics and charts, (hi)story extracts, visual art, taxidermic & fishtank speciments. But most of the room interior floorspace is open, thus accommodating groups of fieldtrip (school) visitors.
What the sturgeon might think of this human interest in their place on Earth would be interesting to know, if such a thing were possible.

Laura always finds these neat little unique events that are maybe the norm for locals but we still get blown away by how lucky we are to live here in BC. We just “casually” drove up 45min to one of the biggest Nordic Centers, where caterers jumped on tracked ATVs to take their supplies & food to a rustic cabin nestled in the middle of @sovereignlake to start prepping our dinner. While 20 guests, our party being 4 people, ( initially meant to be a double date but then turned out me having three Valentines 😅 ) strap on their snowshoes and weave through a braid of trails under the light of the stars with headlamps. After a 1½ hr snowshoe trek we arrived to a beautifully lantern lit cabin decked out with a three course meal. The Black Prince dinner, organized by the amazing @uprootedcatering and Sovereign Lake.
