Here's one from the summer... I found it surprisingly difficult to photograph a squirrel running... they're so fast! I sat for ages, waiting, with peanuts as bait ;-)

A pair of MRL consecutive numbered GP35’s lead the local back into Bozeman, MT after making a run East to Livingston to work an industry and grab some cars. They will return to their yard in downtown Bozeman & tie up from the day.
P&W 2009 (GP38-2) is at the tail-end of a ballast train dumping stone on the East Providence Running Track in Pawtucket, RI. The train is just clearing Columbus Ave. as a bicyclist crosses over "The Highway" and over the grade crossing.

I composed this image during a road trip through Banff National Park, in Alberta, Canada. Hardly a complex photography challenge, but I tend to be easily entranced by "water-in-action."
A Norfolk Southern SD60i sits solo with a baretable in Lorenzo IL on the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision.
A short ELS train to Crivitz heads south through Wausaukee Wisconsin with a pair of former Reserve Mining SD9's for power. This railroad has recently undergone a significant management change and is working to get itself back on its feet with a backlog of traffic and work to be done on its infrastructure.
Inside Wave Action a lot of water coming by the truck window followed by this large blue brush, feels like Sea World, shot in North Carolina.
With Winter gone and May is finally here. It’s nice to know that the heavy April showers have left as well. It’s time to “Spring Into Action” as we plant ground cover, flowers and more trees than I care to count. The longer days are great. Temperatures are such that we can enjoy being outside whether taking a walk or working in the yard. I hope to take and share plenty of photos this season. Gratitude and Kindness grow much like our garden but without the physical labor.
Some action in the Port of Tacoma, WA on a very cold and clear December evening. I nearly froze my fingers in just a few minutes so the Longshoremen must be really prepared for this. It's a 4 shot HDR in Lightroom that tamed the crazy bright lights and contrast.

New project started
I had a load of timber delivered in the pouring rain late Friday afternoon.
I gave the timber a coat of wood stain on Saturday morning, and another today (Sunday).
I’m going to make six 6ft x 2ft x 2ft raised bed planters.
We’re hoping to start growing veg in them.
They’ll be positioned here in the side garden.
The ones I made last year are in the back garden with flowers in them.

As a westbound Utah Railway coal train crosses over to Main 1 at URJ (Utah Railway Junction) near Martin, Utah, a set of light helpers led by venerable Rio Grande SD40T-2 No. 5371 waits on Main 2 on October 24, 2007. Five six-axle Utah Railway locomotives rumble over the crossover working as on a mid-train helper on the westbound load going up Price River grade toward Soldier Summit.
