Review of Classic Maleficent Doll
Her head and face are much more movie accurate than that of the Designer Maleficent, but don't approach the accuracy (and beauty) of the Mattel Great Villains Maleficent doll. She has a head that is considerably larger than the Mattel doll, and it does look too large for her body. Her molded horns are made of hollow black pastic that is glued onto her head. Her 'hood' is a molded part of her head. The horns are missing the purple lines demarking the sections. They have a matte surface, which doesn't look or feel quite as nice as the velvety surface of the Mattel doll's horns and hood. Her head is long and narrow, with a aquiline and very long chin, which is not as pointy as is should be. Her face has the same pale green color as the Mattel doll and movie character. She has narrow beady black eyes with purple eyeshadow from her lids to her arched thin black eyebrows. Her wide mouth has bright red lips and form a scowl. Her overall expression is gloomy, as if she has just heard very disappointing news. I like the Mattel doll's expression much more, which is that of gleeful, smug, evil satisfaction, as if she is just about to vanquish her enemies, which is more in keeping with Maleficent's character. The Mattel doll also has deeper red lips, more like blood red, which I also prefer.
Classic Maleficent has the same body construction as the other 11-12'' dolls in the 2012-2013 Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection, that started with Classic Merida in April 2012. Her skin color is a pale green all over, except for her molded black horns and painted on black panties. She has neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints. Her head is on a ball joint that allows 360 degrees rotation about a horizontal plane, and tilting 10 degrees down, 30 degrees back, and 30 degrees towards the left and right. Perhaps I was a little too forceful testing the tilting of her head for this review, since her right horn started to become unglued from her head. :( This was after these photos were taken. I will have to superglue it back when I get a chance. Her shoulder have ball joints 360 degree rotation in a vertical plane and tilting about 90 degrees from the vertical. Her elbows are also ball joints, that allows 90 degrees tilt inward and 30 degrees outwards. Her wrists are hinge and pivot joints that allow 360 degrees rotation and can tilt 90 degrees backward and 45 degrees forward. Her hips have ball joints that allow rotation about a plane 30 degrees from the vertical, and tilting 30 degrees outward. Her knees are hinge joints that allow tilting 80 degrees backwards and 10 degrees forward. Finally her ankles are hinge/pivot joints like her wrists, allowing 360 rotation, 45 tilt upwards and 80 degrees downwards. She has much more posability than the Mattel Maleficent. She is missing the red painted nails and magic black and gold ring of the movie character and the Mattel doll. Also her green neck is exposed, when it should of be the same color as her horns. The Mattel doll completely covers the neck with a black inner collar.
Her outfit is consists of a dress and a cape, that are sewn together at the left shoulder and connected with a velcro fastener at the right shoulder. It is entirely made of satin, in black or dark magenta, and is removable. The dress is form fitting slinky black satin with a magenta center panel. It has very large sleeves that have saw tooth pattern pointing down (simulating flames), and drape over the arms. They are black on the outside, and magenta inside. The collar is magenta facing forward, and black in the back. The full length cape is black on the outside and magenta on the inside, with sawtooth pattern at the bottom, simulating flames. She has black high heeled shoes, that fit very snuggly on her feet, so I removed the rubber bands that secured the shoes to her feet for shipping. The outfit looks good, but is simplified compared to the one in the movie, or the one on the Mattel Great Villains Maleficent. Also the Mattel doll's outfit has an outer layer of black velvet, which looks and feels much more luxurious than the Disney doll. The Mattel doll also has an inner dress of red satin, and a layer of purple organza in the sleeves and outer collar. However, Mattel doll's outfit is not removable, and it and the doll's construction makes her have only one natural pose - the one that she has in the box.
She has no accessories. So she is missing her magic scepter and her companion raven Diablo, that were included with the Mattel Great Villains version of Maleficent. Without them, the doll looks incomplete, especially in her trademark pose with her arms outstretched.
First look at the newly released Classic Maleficent 12'' doll. Maleficent's look (the doll and her outfit) is based on her appearance in the movie, and is much more movie accurate than the Designer Maleficent doll (September 2011), who was ''re-imagined'' as a fashion doll.

I went to my local DS on Thursday January 3, 2013 and snagged two of the brand new Classic Villain 12'' Dolls, the Evil Queen and Maleficent. They were just released in some stores this past weekend, and are not yet available online. My store did not have the new Jafar yet, but will get him very soon. I also got Mother Gothel, who is in the new ''Posable Arms and Legs'' package so presumably has the new knee and ankle joints that the 2012 Classic Princess dolls have (first introduced with Classic Merida). The new Evil Queen and Maleficent dolls also have the new leg joints. They were all part of the 2 for $20 Disney Princess Classic Doll sale, even though they are brand new releases. I will post photos of all of them boxed, during their deboxing, and fully deboxed, both alone and with other comparable dolls.

Anonymous (after master of Zolle) Hand-Colored Print Fragment of an Adoration featuring Balthazar Netherlands (c. 1470) So, okay. I know that sometimes when I post this sort of thing, especially stuff that’s NOT a painting, and not in good condition, and is very stylized, it will often pass unremarked upon by most. And I get that. It’s okay-it’ll always be a very important part of the whole. But like. Do me a favor. And just…contemplate this guy for a moment. I just….love this, so much. I love his hair (that pattern!), his face (like a Sun-In-Splendor!!), and how the richness of his gift, the sincere gesture of crown to heart, and his humble expression convey so much depth in so few lines. Additionally, I feel that even with the extreme stylization, I get a very strong impression of what this person as depicted could have looked like (in my personal opinion): That’s Alfred Enoch, by the way. And while it’s probably a bit silly, I just can’t find myself becoming tired of looking at something so many centuries old, and being able to see someone who looks like you, or me, or someone we all know. It’s the kind of carefree, simple fun that I grew up being led to believe was something only white people were “allowed” to do, or had access to. That anytime I wanted to engage in this way, the only “role” I could have would have been one of dehumanized degradation, so I might as well not only accept my erasure, but thank them for not depicting me. This isn’t implying we should shy away from unpleasant truths and holding history accountable. What I mean to say is, we can have this, too. We can be whimsical and silly and have fun and write stories and create art-and sure, plenty of people invested in “whites-only” narratives would throw a “historical accuracy” sh*tfit if someone were to paint Alfred Enoch in the 15th century fashion Balthazar up there is wearing. They always do. But what does it matter when we have this? It might be a fragment, it might be hand-colored and messy, but it’s real. It’s the truth. And I love it.

As proof that I still breathe & create I post this:
In 2369 Starfleet Quartermasters started to redesign the Type 3 PHASER rifles to incorporate more accuracy favoring ergonomics & features, in the process a design was put forward to create a select fire unit, with the ability to be modified to fit as many usage situations as possible, to that end an engineer created a base unit with a 600 Discharges Per Minute fire rate, that can be toggled back to 200 DPMs, & be semi-automatically fired as well for precise targeting, that engineer also created a rechargeable in gun Sarium Krellide power pack, that can be replaced in field. Along with the aforementioned attributes a modular barrel length system consisting of 20.34 cm/8 in.segments was also included to allow for customization for various applications such as diplomatic security, away missions, tactical combat ops, & sniping. Into the designing process a friend of the main engineer of this weapon system wanted to chip in a little bit and designed a multipurpose Enhanced Holographic Display sight, a 15 mm trilithium/tricobalt grenade launcher, a bullpupped Plasma burst "shotgun," a new telescopic/spread out gripod(short for grip-bipod), & a customized antique scope. When these two were finished a third brought in the notion to use an antiquated attachment method known as piccatiny rails & iron sighting for non-scoped/sighted use. When all was said & done Starfleet Command rejected this idea fearing it would lead to a militarization of Starfleet personnel mentalities, but unbeknownst to all but a few, rumors of Section 31's incorporation of this "family" began to swirl. To adjust the beam intensity/dispersal the blue & yellow translucent lights are slid left to right or right to left depending on desired effect change, and just rear of said adjustment sliders is a cutout screen with a power cell remaining discharge readout. Thanks go to Decado2010 & EagleMalkavian for their parts I used either as is, or disassembled & used for new part housing.

My new shield - based on a lot of research and measurements - versus my old shield - based mostly on just "eyeballing it"
Accuracy is, as expected, markedly improved.

Me kidding the helicopter pilot with my threat to jump. Helicopters are not my favorite machine. I was sixteen years old and riding around on National Guard Hueys. I hitchhiked there from Texas and demanded a job as a volunteer with USPA. Can you imagine trying to do that today? Just imagine the lawyers that would be involved. I would go up and watch the best-looking female jumpers from Sweden, France, and the Soviet Union compete. Two years later I did the same thing as a photographer and went to Hungary in 1974. That trip changed my life forever. RW, or "Relative Work" was brand new in Tahlequah. I still remember being mere feet away from some very heated arguments between jumpers and officials as they argued over RW. USPA simply couldn't keep up with this revolution in jumping. It was a very strict world of either/or. Either style or accuracy. Jerry Bird and his team from California were shaking things up. It was a wild time for the sport. They knew they were in the middle of a revolution, and the inmates had stolen the keys from the jailers.
No name. Not sure if the idea's been done justice. The wings are really messy. Another ship that started out completely different before undergoing about 75 changes. Can't seem to focus on an idea lately.
Sorry Pete for deleting the old pic along with your comment :)
Athletes and coaches compete in the last two weeks of Friday Night Lights, the fitness competition held at CrossFit Scottsdale. Competitors from all over the valley (including Matt Lucas from CrossFit Southwest who earned third place overall in Men’s RX) put their strength, speed, endurance, power, flexibility and even accuracy to the test during the workout routines. The athletes with the most training, nutrition, and an elite level of physical fitness prevailed. Coach Luke Kayyem won the Rx Division for the men while Coach Melissa Einbinder won for the females. Several athletes qualified for the Southwest Regional competition, the next path to the Reebok Sponsored CrossFit Games.
The accuracy of a measurement system is the degree of closeness of measurements of a quantity to that quantity's actual value.

medievalpoc: frank-e-shadow-tongue: supernatasha: part-ofthecult: Hogwarts Founders » Idris Elba // Lucy Liu // Hrithik Roshan // Angel Coulby While I do love that whoever made this did a good job matching actors to characters, the one issue I have is that Hogwarts is in England and what founded several centuries ago. I’m not saying that there wouldn’t have been blacks or asians in England at the time, but it’s still a historical inaccuracy to depict them as anything other than white Englishmen, since the culture of England at the time wouldn’t have had room for blacks and asians as anything other than slaves or traders. Please don’t take this as me being racist, this is just me with a debilitating and incurable need for historical accuracy. So let’s see. The Sorting claims it’s origins about a thousand or so years ago in it’s song, which implies the 1000s. JK Rowling described them as “medieval," which is about 500 to 1500, again agreeing with our 1000 date. So let’s work with that. We’ve got a pretty decent timeline to work with here. There have been black people in Scotland since “classical times,” and black moors present in James IV’s royal court in the 1500s, plus there’s St. Deiniol in Wales in the 500s, implying black people were also in the religious court instead of all just slaves and servants. Therefore, could a strong and fearless future-Gryffindor have ancestry native to the Isles? Hmmm. Hannibal of Carthage was definitely not white (at least not in the modern sense). As a matter of fact, many Mediterranean descended people are mixed with Central Asians, South Asians, and North Africans so… But anyway, in 1555, black men were learning to be interpreters in London to help with trading in the Ghanian region. Here’s a coat of arms with black people on it dated 1616. Also, literally how do you not know about Dido Elizabeth Belle, an aristocratic lady of Scotland from the 1700s??? The Romani migrated out what is now modern day India and Pakistan in about the 1000s, so add in that they’re wizards who can fly and all that jazz, they could’ve easily gotten there within a year or two and settled in Scotland once they learned white people weren’t treating them very kindly. There you go, that’s how a South Asian Slytherin made it to Scotland just in time to found Hogwarts. Here’s desi people of color from the Indian subcontinent, called Lascars, who had been sailing in Europe from as early as the 1400s, possibly earlier, still fitting that there could’ve been wizards in the British Isles about a hundred or so years earlier. Art from the 1600s showing brown men in turbans. Here’s an Indian man who in the 1700s ran a successful restaurant in England and taught white people to shampoo their hair lol. Japanese emissaries came to Europe as early as 1584 and observed there were already Chinese and Japanese slaves among the overwhelmingly black slaves, something blamed on Christianity, which was part of the reason why Japan vehemently became isolated from that point. Also about East Asia, Mongolian Genghis Khan made it to about Poland-ish in the 1200s, so it’s not a far bet to say the Chinese (who were also conquered by Khan on his way to Europe) could’ve found their way to Scotland around that time or a few hundred years earlier. Along with a smart cookie who would go on to be the founder of Ravenclaw. Native Americans, of course, have been present in Europe for a while. In the 1500s, Manteo and Wanchese arrived in London. There’s evidence the Vikings and Indigenous Americans were friendly long before when Columbus blah blah, and there’s even evidence of Native Americans in Holland that’s like 2000 years old. Could a kind and loyal future Hufflepuff be one of those mixed race indigenous American-Africans? ALSO considering the fact that Binns (the history professor at Hogwarts) specifically stated that witches and wizards were being persecuted and Hogwarts was built out of sight of Muggle eyes, it’s completely possible that POC came to Scotland and built the castle happily for other magical humans to have a safe place. Since HP universe is a fantasy anyway, read these article while you’re at it. So yeah, I understand your implication that you don’t want to be racist or anything like that (bc being called racist is ofc so much worse than actually being ignorant), but POC were not just traders and slaves in the British Isles, they were a fuckton of other things your history books aren’t telling you (or trying to intentionally steer you away from). So me having an all-brown cast for a location in a dominantly-white place I’m sure is irking the fuck out of you, and that makes me so glad to see you confronted with that “incurable” need for historical accuracy you have. And check out this rad blog: Racebending Harry Potter. how come the only time people mention the enslavement of black people in Europe is when they want to deny our presence in fantasy fiction? And that’s what it really boils down to pretty much every time. Because someone couldn’t deal with a single photoset with characters of color in a FANTASY setting. None of the “fact checking” is really necessary, because that isn’t really the issue. Fantasy fiction isn’t something that should be subject to “proof”, but when it comes to racial diversity, it invariably is every time. It’s my hope that with Medievalpoc, this endless quibbling about what is and is not “historically accurate” can be done away with, and Toni Morrison’s quote here can become creative people of color’s realities: Apparently this needs to be reblogged again.
The Brihat Samrat Yantra (Greater Sundial) at the Jantar Mantar can tell the local time within 2 seconds of accuracy! What amazes me is the precise construction of all these instruments in the early 18th century!
The reason for the large size Brihat Samrat Yantra was accuracy. In the past, it was not possible to finely grade the time markings. Therefore the only way to get a finer resolution was to enlarge the dimension of the scale!
The Jantar Mantar is one of the oldest astronomical observatories in the world featuring multiple instruments to observe celestial objects with astonishing accuracy. The observatory was build by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1727 in Jaipur. An earlier observatory was built by him in Delhi in 1724.
The Maharaja himself was an avid astronomer, having been educated in Persian, Indian and Western principles of astronomy and mathematics.
The word Jantar Mantar is a combination of Sanskrit words Yantra (यंत्र) and Mantra (मंत्र), which mean "Instrument" and "Formula". Instruments were constructed in accordance with mathematical formulae and astronomical principles.
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II established five observatories in India - at Delhi, Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi.
Today, the Jantar Mantar complex in Jaipur is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts a large number of visitors every day. I first visited the Jantar Mantar in 1986, and have been fascinated every time I went there subsequently!
These pictures are a part of our journey through Northern Rajasthan and Agra. Sit back and view my Jaipur slideshow.

I own this old Girard map. Wish I had a better copy but it is too big for the average scanner. This is a photograph taken by my Son Dr. Jeremy Tewell that has it with him in Stillwater, OK, USA.
This high-accuracy conductivity logger is a cost-effective way to collect water quality data. The HOBO U24 measures and records both conductivity and temperatures in streams, lakes, and other freshwater sources. This logger is recommended for monitoring aquifers for saltwater intrusion and road and agricultural runoff. This product’s open access to its sensor simplifies cleaning and maintenance. The HOBO U24’s non-contact sensor minimizes measurement errors related to drift. In addition, the logger features software-based drift compensation.
The HOBO U24 Conductivity data logger features a non-contact sensor with a Titanium Pentoxide coating. This coating prevents the sensor from coming in contact with the water, which in turn prevents tarnishing or corrosion associated with traditional electrode sensors. This sensor coating is also inert, enabling fouling to be easily wiped off the sensor.
•Non-contact sensor provides long life and less measurement drift
•Provides easy access to sensor for cleaning and shedding air bubbles
•HOBOware Pro software enables start/end-point calibration to compensate for any fouling and provides easy conversion to specific conductance and salinity
•USB optical interface provides high-speed, reliable data offload in wet environments
•Compatible with the HOBO Waterproof Shuttle for easy and reliable data retrieval and transport
The new Classic Maleficent doll has been fully deboxed and is posing standing up with her arms outstretched. She is supported by a metal doll stand (not included with the doll). She is photographed from all angles.
2012-2013 Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection Maleficent 12'' Doll
US Disney Store
$14.50, or 2 for $20
Released in stores December 30, 2012
Purchased in store January 3, 2013
Not yet available online
Competitors test on a stress shoot at the annual New York State Best Warrior Competition March 27, 2015, at Camp Smith, N.Y.
During the stress shoot event the competitors had to hit a standard M16 target, starting at 300 m., firing between running, dragging a litter with 145 lbs. of weight, carrying a water can, and running again. The competitors were scored on both their accuracy and time taken to complete each portion.
The Best Warrior competitors represent each of New York's brigades after winning competitions at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. At the state level they are tested on their physical fitness, military knowledge, endurance, marksmanship, and land navigation skills. The two winners of the competition, one junior enlisted and one NCO, advance to compete at the regional level later this year.

Top Motivational Movies Every Entrepreneur MUST Watch For A Dose Of Inspiration 1. Nightcrawler (2014) NightCrawlers I just finished watching this movie, and the first thing I did after watching it was start writing this post. Nightcrawler is a movie for people with great vision. This movie is little brutal, but Jake Gyllenhaal’s acting will keep you engaged. It’s about a struggling guy who is looking for a job but can’t find one. Instead, he finds a window of opportunity after witnessing a crime and decides to become a crime journalist. This movie will teach you that with a little persuasion and drive, anyone can become anything. It will teach you how focusing on, and improving, your positive attributes will make you limitless. Go watch this movie, and then come back and tell me you aren’t inspired. It’s not possible. And without giving away any spoilers, here’s the last line of the movie: “I will never ask you to do anything that I wouldn’t do myself.” 2. The Social Network (2010) The Social Network was a Hollywood blockbuster. It was based on the fairy-tale rise of Mark Zuckerberg and his startup – Facebook. The Social Network remains a top choice for inspiration because of its deft storytelling and brilliant background score. This is a good movie on learning how to take your dreams and turn them into reality. The movie also teaches us a lot on how to scale a company from a dorm room to the most successful social media platform the world has ever seen! Although the accuracy of this movie has been questioned, it doesn’t matter, it is a great source of inspiration for all entrepreneurs. Here is one of the best lines from the movie: “The internet’s not written in pencil, Mark, it’s written in ink.” 3. Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) Pirates of Silicon Valley is another well-crafted movie covering the successes of Bill Gates’s Microsoft and Steve Jobs’s Apple. Both were no doubt “great pirates” and this movie does a great job of detailing that. The movie is a take on the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates from the very early days. Noah Wyle did a great job of portraying young Steve Jobs in this made-for-television movie. And Anthony Michale Hall does a great Bill Gates. Here’s one of his quotes: “Success is a menace. It fools smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” 4. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) Yes, it’s spelled like that. This is one of my favorite motivational movies, and one of the best movies ever on never giving up. Will Smith’s amazing portrayal of Chris Gardner will give you goosebumps. This is a movie based on Chris’s memoirs. It was a best-selling book and then became a blockbuster movie. It adds in a gripping sense of reality that you don’t find in a lot of cheesy Hollywood movies. The movie features a powerful, yet simple message: Never give up. Here’s a great line: “The world is your oyster. It’s up to you to find the pearls." 5. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) How could we leave out this one!? It’s one of IMDB’s all-time top 10 movies. Here’s the story: Two imprisoned men bond over a period of many years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency. The protagonist Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) manages to make the best out of a very bad situation (being imprisoned for a false murder). Through perseverance, he manages to achieve more than he ever thought possible. Morgan Freeman plays the other main character, and their chemistry is unmatchable. During one of their earliest conversations, Andy says: “I guess it comes down a simple choice: Get busy living, or get busy dying." 6. Forrest Gump (1994) This is a beautiful story about a simple man with good intentions, who accidentally becomes a phenomenal success just by living his the life he feels is right. He wins medals, becomes a professional ping-pong player, takes up running, owns a huge shrimping company, and inspires people all across the country. The story revolves around the simple nature of Forrest (Tom Hanks) and how he proves that you don’t have to be a genius to achieve something. All you have to do is try. My favorite quote from the movie: “I’m not a smart man. But I *know* what love is." 7. Moneyball (2011) This movie is about the Oakland Athletics and its general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt). The team is an underdog and is losing a lot of money. All of their star players have been picked up by bigger teams. Now, Billy needs to look at how to create a winning team without the kind of talent that money can buy. This movie shows how entrepreneurs can take an innovative approach to an existing way of doing business, and beat out the competition with little to no money. Here’s a great line: “When your enemy’s making mistakes, don’t interrupt him.” 8. The Godfather (1972) The Godfather is another one of IMDB’s all-time top 10 movies, and it’s also one of the most critically acclaimed films of all time. This is a story about the growth of a small family business and the fighting off of the opposition. The business changes through time until it finally becomes the largest organized crime syndicate in New York City. The father and son who run the operation show what it takes to get to the top and stay there. It’s a great watch for those who want to learn how to stay on the top. Note: Don’t do anything illegal, just find some inspiration in these shrewd business operators. And I know you won’t be able to resist from tweeting this line: “A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.” 9. Wall Street (1987) This a movie about business and greed. The story is about an ambitious young stockbroker, Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen). He has and does everything in his power to succeed, even if that means a little insider trading. Insider trading is a highly reprehensible and punishable crime, and yet, he has no fear. He meets with Gordon Gecko (Michael Douglas) and starts doing business with the motto “greed is good”. You don’t have to succumb to greed to draw inspiration from this movie. Here’s a great line: “The most valuable commodity I know of is information." 10. Rocky (1976) This is the classic underdog story. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is given the chance to fight the heavyweight champ. He has an opportunity to make a better life for himself by going head to head with the challenge. This movie teaches a lot about the competitive spirit, and will inspire you to get up and beat your competition (hopefully not literally!). Always remember this truth: “Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up.” 11. Jerry McGuire (1996) This is a classic movie (based on a true story) that shows just what it takes to stay at the top. The protagonist (Tom Cruise) is faced with rejection and people keep turning their backs on him while he takes big leaps of faith. Slowly, he identifies the best road for him to follow, and ultimately ends up being successful in both business and life. Here’s a little-known quote from this movie (written on a sign in a locker room): “Success consists of simply getting up one more time than you fall.” 12. Startup.com (2001) Startup.com is an excellent documentary about the internet gold rush of the late 1990’s. This documentary has all the necessary ingredients to learn a few great lessons about the internet bubble. A rise in competition, lifelong friendships on the line, and do-or-die ambitions all combine to form a deadly cocktail for an internet startup. Here’s a warning sign that things aren’t going great: “It’s about the money. Don’t BS me. It’s obviously about the money." 13. Something Ventured (2011) If you happen to be an entrepreneur looking forward to exploring the VC avenue, this documentary has some great insight. Something Ventured is a documentary based on the perspective of the first venture capitalists in Silicon Valley. It’s a really great way of looking at how things get funded, and what’s on the line for big time investors. It’s also a great look at how to be brave and push through innovative ideas in a market that always likes to be complacent. For any entrepreneur or investor: “The risks were just enormous." 14. Boiler Room (2000) Although this movie is most likely inspired by the original Wall Street, there are few great salesman tips to inspire you here! Let this movie guide you to find that inner business spirit. It’s a total must-watch to get you motivated. Also, it’ll help you stay true to your spirit and not become morally corrupt. One great line to remember: “I had a very strong work ethic. The problem was my ethics in work.” Click To Tweet 15. Office Space (1999) Raise your hand if you hate work! If you’ve ever hated an office job, Office Space is definitely a movie for you. This movie will help inspire you to get out of that awful 9 to 5 lifestyle. This is such a motivating movie… It’s about a guy who just can’t stand going to work anymore. Instead of being fired, he gets promoted, but his bitterness about his job comes back to cause him trouble. Seriously amazing movie. Here’s a great line: “The thing is, Bob, it’s not that I’m lazy, it’s that I just don’t care." Bonus : Ctrl+Alt+Compete (2011) Ctrl+Alt+Compete is a documentary movie with some of the most up-to-date insights into the modern startup industry. Here you can take a look into the highs, the lows, and the harsh realities of the startup world. This movie is a reality check on the illusions of the startup industry in general. Here’s a line about investing: “This is really just legitimized gambling.” Movies for Motivation : Apart from these movies, any of the TED videos are highly recommended, and will give you much that needed push to start and finish up anything. Another movie that I highly recommend you check out is “The Secret”. This movie will not only help you build a positive outlook, it will change your perspective and will help you live a meaningful and happy life. This is my list of inspirational movies, and I’m sure there are many more movies which have motivated you. Share those movies with me in the comments. From the highs of Welly accuracy to the lows of Hot Wheels generic plastic in one swoop! There is yet another series of HW cartoon themed models to warm the pegs for eternity which have just hit the U.K. in the form of the new Looney Tunes set. There are eight castings to chose from and all are generic, plastic heavy and unforgivably now cost over three Pounds! I have absolutely no idea who sets the prices for these horrors but yet again nobody in our retail head offices have actually bothered to check how all the umpteen previous sets haven't sold! There are so so many great Hot Wheels series out there, mainly only available in the U.S. which would be far far more appealing than the tat which continues to be offloaded onto us. After some deliberating I did pick up one of these pink Bugs Bunny themed HW Poppa Wheelies purely because its heavily based on an old Reliant Regal Supervan but thats where the attraction ends! Fancy packaging can no longer justifying paying so much for models which should NEVER cost more than a basic Mainline when they are as cheapo as this! Bought from Sainsbury's but no doubt will be clogging the pegs at various retailers very soon too. Mint and boxed.
The BAE Systems Rapier Surface-to-Air Missile System was developed for the British Army to replace their outdated Towed Bofors 40/L70 Anti-Aircraft Guns. The system is unusual as it uses a 'Manual Optical Guidance System' sending Guidance Commands to the Missile in flight over a Radio Link, this results in a high level of accuracy, therefore a large Warhead is not required.
Entering service in 1971, it eventually replaced all other Anti-Aircraft Weapons in service with the British Army, both the Bofors Guns used against Low-Altitude Targets and the Thunderbird Missile used against Longer-Range and Higher-Altitude Targets. As the expected Air Threat moved from Medium-Altitude Strategic Missions to Low-Altitude Strikes, the fast reaction time and high maneuverability of the Rapier made it more effective than either of these Weapons, replacing most of them by 1977. Rapier was later selected by the RAF Regiment to replace their Bofors Guns and Tigercat Missiles. It also saw international sales, as of 2021, it was in the process of being replaced as one of the United Kingdom's Primary Air-Defence Weapons by Sky Sabre.
The first Rapier Units were delivered to the British Army in and the RAF Regiment 1971, in 1981 a new Rapier, FSB1 entered service. It had improved electronics and sensors, in 1990 FSB1 (M) was introduced with improvements to the Optical Tracker, Fire Unit and Radar Tracker. Rapier was at first a daylight fair weather Air Defence System, with the addition of the ''Blindfire'' Radar Tracker, Rapier became an all-weather night and day System.
Each Fire System can cover over 38.6 square miles of sky up to a height of 9,843ft, each Missile travels at over twice the speed of sound, and has a High-Explosive Warhead. During the Falklands War of 1982, Rapier Units were deployed to cover the beachhead at San Carlos, also used in the Gulf War of 1991 and the Iraq War of 2003.

I'm seriously impressed with the accuracy of the GPS on my phone.
You can see the backtrack when we entered rwy 19 and even the track we took between the hangars when we returned - I was expecting the corrugated iron of the hangars to interfere with the GPS, but it looks like it had no effect whatsoever!

* Volumetric 3D-4D GeoSEIS models will allow to increase accuracy of tectonic structures mapping on deep horizons to a level of near-surface horizons, that in many times will raise the efficiency and will reduce the operating costs for geological prospecting and explorations.
* The volumetric 3D GeoSEIS models of low-amplitude geodynamic zones, tectonic structures and geophysical fields shows that the well-explored areas of hydrocarbon occurrences and deposit are locate on the most favorable trap structures that are fixed on 3D GeoSEIS model of multicomponent stress field.
* Vertical sections of volumetric “4D GeoSEIS Tomography” (4D Space-Time) Models of spectral brightness fields of airborne and satellite images are in good agreement with geological
and geophysical section obtained with AMT and RAP profiling, the results of drilling and geo-surveying details of old underground mining at the test site area:
1) Locations of all AMT (Audio-Magneto-Telluric) anomalies of maximal resistivity at 100m-150m depths coincide with the local anomalies of maximum spectral brightness (VNIR/ch.8/WV-2)
of highly porous zones (oil-gas trap). The latter offer more accurate reflection of the morphology of the echelon fracture zones associated with horizontal left-hand shear zone;
2) Patterns of resistivity and the local anomalies of maximum spectral brightness (VNIR & TIR) are direct hidrocarbon indicators: the presence of hydrocarbons in highly porous rocks
is also associated with characteristic resistivity patterns revealed by MT - so-called "Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators" - as demonstrated by the international Project Paleorift in Uzbekistan.
* The intervals and locations of the points, where drilling tools sink down, are notable for anomalies of maximum spectral brightness. The locations and intervals between places
of drilling fluid loss coincide with aquifer zones, which are registered due to anomalies
of minimum spectral brightness.
WHY WAIT FOR YOUR 90% DISCOUNT of 3D-4D GeoSEIS Tomography Modelling & Monitoring?
* The approbation of 3D-4D GeoSEIS Tomography method on any area, as my research at Iron Ore Open Pit №1 of PAO“CGOK” (Krivoy Rog, Ukraine) will be cost only $5000...
* The integrated 3D-4D GeoSEIS Tomography Method is a unique tool of 3D-4D transformations and integration of DEM, airborne thermal & multispectral satellite images, airborne/ground gamma-ray spectrometry, geophysical, geological and geochemical data into multicomponent volumetric 3D-4DGeoSEIST GIS for an exact and cost-effective 4D modelling!
* The prime commercial focus is a consulting service to assist predictive discovery of mineral & oil-gas deposits through application of advanced multicomponent volumetric 4D GeoSEIS Tomography modeling of spectral brightness and geophysical fields to targeting problems. This emerging 4D GeoSEIS technology is starting to be utilized by exploration companies and has the potential to improve the probability of exploration success by reducing the time and cost involved in discovery.
It appeared that Rabbi Yitzchok Gurevitz’s faith in the accuracy of the weather forecast was rewarded last evening. Skies cleared just before the public lighting of a large Hanukah menorah at 6:30 pm on a grassy area beside Chestnut Hill Plaza at the bottom Germantown Avenue above Cresheim Drive.
Twenty some people such as Norm and Leah Schwartz of Mount Airy who brought their granddaughter, braved the near freezing temperatures and driving winds which had blown out the afternoon’s rain and sleet, to celebrate the first night of Hanukah. As Gurevitz, leader of Chabad-Lubavitch of Northwest Philadelphia, lit an oil wick candle, they sang prayers to mark the beginning of the eight-day Jewish holiday that commemorates the successful revolt of the Jews against the Syrian king Antiochus in 165 BCE in Judea and the rededication of the Temple that had been desecrated at his orders.
Hanukah is a special holiday, Gurevitz explained, because Jews are called upon to observe it not just in the home but outside with the community at large. (In 2002, the U.S. Supreme Court got involved in the national Chabad movement practice of lighting menorahs in public places made controversial by the constitutional mandate of separation of church and state, when it allowed a public display in Fountain Square, Cincinnati)
Referring to the case, Gurevitz emphasized the menorah as a symbol of freedom for all people and interprets the freedom message at a personal level- “the freedom to be the best that we can be, the freedom to be the most we can be.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a celebrant placed a large boom box atop his car parked in the adjoining driveway and broadcast festive Chanukah music as those gathered huddled against the cold, schmoozed, and enjoyed latkes (traditional potato pancakes) with hot cider.
