Ihre Baukosten von geschätzten 545 Millionen US-Dollar sind in hochwertige Materialien und aufwändige Ausstattung geflossen. So wurden zum Beispiel 15 verschiedene Sorten Marmor zum Bau benutzt, die üppig mit Blattgold verziert wurden.
The Sheikh-Zayid Mosque is the third-largest mosque in the world. On 224 x 174 meters, the mosque offers space for 40,000 believers. Construction costs of estimated USD 545 million have been spent on high-quality materials and elaborate equipment. For example, 15 different types of marble were used for construction, lavishly decorated with leaf gold.
