This little and ancient chapel has stood the winds the weather of the Atlantic coast : its in the Cabo Espichel (winds are extremly strong here) its one of the most ancient moments in this region right on the cliffs of the coast : this the Ermida da Memória - Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mua Sanctuary. It changes colours with the light and inside has great " ajulejos". This whole region is most peaceful and beautiful (next to my favourites beaches) so I would like to share with all of you. This is "the spot" by the lake is most special to my heart in a truly beautiful place of total tranquility and calm, a bliss to " get away from it all" and be one with Nature; and its very special not only to me .... the sound of the water, the wonderful mixture of plants,the fish, the colours, birds and all that plus lots of laughter when needed ... (a bit of paradise ) -- just a blisseful day (which is in my heart) so I am glad to share with you all .. and wish you lots of serenity, which we all need so much. This week the brief was to show something about ourselves, but without us in the photo.
Well, as far as I'm concerned a day out isn't a day out, if there isn't coffee and cake :)
I rarely make my own cakes - coz I'd have to eat a whole cake - but I do very much enjoy the occasional slice of cake as a treat.
The reflection of the Castelo de Almourol at the end a clear Autunm day. The history of this castle (built on a small island) goes back to roman times but it was here that the in the 12th century the Grand Master of the Temple Order rebuilt it as one of the defense castles for the battles with the Moors - in its towers we can still the " templar sign" (this is actually known for being a "Templar region") and its associated to a series of castles and convents; it was inhabited until 1600, today is a National Monument. All the towers still stand (even if it suffered from the great earthquake of the 18th century) and the water which separates the castle from land (once for defense now so lovely to see) ...all that is really a wonderful sight. Enjoy!

. . . This term generally refers to weather conditions which are influenced by the Great Lakes, such as these snow clouds moving in over Little Point Sable Lighthouse near Silver Lake.
In a much broader sense, however, the lake has an influence over our being, our soul if you will! To live next to such beauty and clear, clean water makes us who we are!

"Oh please dont wake me! ... but the kitten was so happy to climb on top of my friend so I could not resist and took this shot, so typical of a summer afternoon, when all is sunny , quiet, relaxing ... just summertime.
This is dedicated to my dear friend IRENE- a belated birthday "gift" to remind her of our siestas and the sun of Iberia HAPPYLATE BIRTHDAY my dear friend!!

So after the live music in the afternoon and early evening we headed off to watch the fireworks a little further down with some of the camera club. I apologise for another fireworks shot, but I think I may have the bug for night shooting now. Big thanks to Dave for the loan of his lens and his handy tips helped in the making of this photo! I think this one definitely beats my first attempt!

The magnificent Poplar diversifolia trees have existed on earth for millions of years . It is said that they have a life span of about 300 years and still will remain standing for about 3 years after their death and when finally when they fall to the ground , they will not rot for another 3 years . So , these trees show great character , vitality and nobility .
Another shot I rediscovered recently and have given the texture treatment to (Flypaper Apple Blush). I pumped up the saturation to enhance the colours as well. Taken at Stourhead last year.
This is to commemerate my mothers passing 8 years today, Mum you are Always in my thoughts and my Heart, Miss you and love you.

2. Am I dreaming?
A view up the steps into the woodland on Sharpenhoe Clappers. I liked the lighting, giving a dreamlike effect, walking up the steps into the unknown.
Sorry for the lame title, couldn't come up with anything better...lol
All the times we have been to this little burg, this is the first time, we have walked this set of trails carved in the wild blackberry bushes...glad we finally did...even if the sea was so calm this visit
Week 5 2020: About you.
When I saw the week's theme, I was glad to notice that we couldn't post self-portraits, as I generally don't like them.
Then, the search for an idea that could describe me. I generally am organized and like to keep everything in order. However, chaos and disorder usually battle me, and I'm not proud to say that they sometimes win!
I used some tools as when you are making any project, they usually start in their place and ordered to end up scrambled an d in chaos!
We planned our anniv trip to Yosemite this year just to enjoy the snow. Imagine how depressing it was to watch as this winter was the driest since the 1930's. Thankfully, this was the sight that greeted us this morning.
Needless to say I kinda when nuts...we hiked around the valley for over 4 hours and I took 532 shots...augh...I will never get them all processed...lol
