The 223,000 square-foot PECO Delaware Station (formerly known as the Delaware River Generating Station) was designed by architect John T. Windrim in 1917 and built by Stone and Webster. It operated as a major electrical power plant until 2004.

The plant is now owned by Joe Volpe and Bart Blatstein, who bought the property for $3 million in August 2015. #abandoned #powerstation #philadelphia #abandonedpa #dps #delawarepowerstation

I explored this old coal facility in Western PA with my friend Ben this December. Over the years, and including when I lived in PA, I have visited a handful of time. It seems to have never changed. Even the graffiti is the same. The facility seems to be caught in a stage of perpetual rust and rot, so much that even the vandals have given up on it. More on this later...

Gym in an abandoned school in the PA coal region, shot back in January during one of the coldest days I have ever experienced. You could literally see your breath inside the building.

From a distillery in an abandoned industrial park, Linfield, PA. I thought they looked like giant golf tees or pegs in the 'Sorry' game.

The Huber Coal Breaker was purchased last year, around August or September, through a bankruptcy sale. The purchaser is a Philly company which has been demolishing it piece by piece. This image was taken standing in the main conveyor during the fall of last year. The main conveyor has since been completely demolished and is a lost part of this country's history.
