View of the ruins of San Isidro Catholic Church on Highway 17 in Las Mesitas, Colorado. The Mission style church was gutted by a fire in 1975 and the structure has no glass in the windows and no roof. The adobe walls have curvilinear parapets. The facade has a circular window above the entrance and round arched window frames on the bell towers and entrance.

A cat strolls down the street past the Magic Sky, an abandoned jewelry store. The building is for sale, in case anyone is looking for a business opportunity in Taos.
Back side of old store, Omaha Arkansas,
I believe that this is the original general store
and Post Office building, built about 1873.
This would make it one of the oldest structures
on the area. Upon verification, would be eligible
for the National Register of Historic Places.
Trik Trak Victorian Time Capsule
Here is the link to the video!!
A cold winter's day is when I first laid eyes on this house. I parked at the end of the driveway (just barely) and walked down just as the sky was turning that deep blue colour after the sun has set. I walked inside and had a quick look around and knew this was a location that I needed to come back to. Unfortunately, I never marked down the location, I thought about the house numerous times over the years and knew that I had to find it again to go back there. Fast forward a few years and the location again popped back onto my radar. I finally made it out there and was able to see it again for the first time.
Built in the late 1800s this Victorian Farmhouse has sat abandoned for about 16 years according to a calendar on the wall from 2006. A time capsule with furniture, belongings and personal items left behind. It also has one of the most amazing staircases I have seen inside an abandoned farmhouse. It has sat decaying for at least that long while the surrounding land was used for livestock until at least 2015. Since then the land surrounding the home has become severely overgrown and almost invisible to people travelling by while the surrounding crops continue to be actively farmed.
Can't get enough of these architectural characters abandoned on our Canadian prairies, especially against the backdrop of a dramatic sky. (3 exposure, 2 stops, HDR)

Pieces of metal flap in the wind in the mill at the abandoned site in Death Valley. Most of the equipment has been removed and some of the building has collapsed. The information about who owned and operated this mill and mined in the area is not known for sure. It also appears not much milling or mining went on although the house appeared to have been used until the 60's.
Happy Sun Ray Sunday!
