Too much surfing on great Finnish photographers' sites on Flickr some days ago lead to a bout of nostalgia, which I was subsequently attempting to self-medicate by going through photos from last summer. I did not feel then that any of these would merit to be posted on its own, but in the middle of winter they certainly look more charming to me... One coffee table and two breakfasts, with blueberries and raspberries from the forest. Original photos SOOC. Not bad, if very heavy on calories. The sausage tasted mainly of sage. I would have preferred a more generous serving of veg than a solitary mushroom and the token half tomato instead of the iniquitous and un-English hash browns.

Apparantly this is "English breakfast 9,70 EUR, coffee/tea, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, toast & jam, orange juice". Of course I didn't expect a proper fry-up, but I wasn't expecting watermelon, cucumber, tomato (neither fried nor tinned) or lettuce! Hot dog sausages, no milk for the tea, no promised jam, but the array of fruit and salad threw me off guard. Arrived far too quickly to be freshly cooked. I think this might rather be a jumble of two breakfasts they offer. However, half-time oranges could make a welcome addition to proper fry-ups!

Breakfast as served on our flight (AY 841Q) to Amsterdam on board in economy class in Finnair's Airbus A319-100, OH-LVI.
Extra drinks were also served (free of charge). I opted for apple juice. :)
And for all it's worth... I actually like airplane food.

We had a small sandwich and a sweet pastry.
Breakfast on board in the economy class of Finnair's Airbus A319-100, OH-LVB, on our way from Helsinki to Manchester, December 2008. The breakfast consisted scrambled eggs and bacon with some tomato, a bun, lingonberry yoghurt (which luckily did not taste like lingonberry at all ;-) ) and orange juice. Drinks e.g. all sorts of soft drinks and tea or coffee were also served.

Aamiainen turistiluokassa Finnairin Airbus A319-100-koneessa, OH-LVB, matkalla Helsingistä Manchesteriin, joulukuu 2008. Ruokana oli munakokkelia ja pekonia tomaatin kera, sämpylä, puolukkajugurtti (joka ei onneksi maistu puolukalle ollenkaan ;-) ) ja appelsiinimehua. Juomina tarjoiltiin erilaisia virvokejuomia ja teetä tai kahvia.
