In India there is a state called Maharastra situated on west coast ( Facing Arabian Sea). In this state of Maharastra there is a region called Kokan.
Kokan is basically entire costal area of Maharastra ( See blue coloured area ). Basically they are districts in Maharastra viz ( From North to south)
Thane district , Mumbai ( Bombay ) district, Raigad district, Ratnagiri district, Sindhudurga district.
On north side of Thane district is a state called Gujarat. On south side of Sindhudurga district is state called Goa.
