Ok, you've seen art by me...now I'm showing you art by Mother Nature...I personally think that Mother Nature produces the most amazing works of art...we only need to look at it through the eyes of an artist!
This is a crop of the rust on the dinghy in the next post.
I took this photo on my Goolwa getaway! :)

Rosemary Beetle (Chrysolina americana) on Lavender (Lavandula; in the mint family, Lamiaceae) branch!
It is an attractive 5mm long metallic green beetle with purple stripes on its wing cases and thorax. The beetle devours the leaves of rosemary, lavender, thyme, sage and some other related plants. The beetle is a native of southern Europe that has become an established pest in Britain since the 1990s.
bolted, the flowers are amazingly pretty. Not expected.
Ended up pulling them out because I cant ever seem to get them to bulb, so that we have something edible. Rain came and they all fell down. I took a few photos of these before the rain.
I love to find beauty and perfection in the common things... and plants! Those which we pass along everyday without even noticing their exceptional beauty.
Thank you hialoakapua for the wonderful inner picture you gave me with your comment :)
I added it to the title!

Despite the fact that by the Chinese calendar, 2010 is the Year of the Tiger or Geng Yin, for me, it is the Year of the Snake.
I have more than my share of run ins with snakes this year in my garden. I think the worst was when I stepped into a nest of young snakes and all six wrapped themselves around my right ankle and were moving, squirming, writhing, and trying to get up my leg.
Okay, it is time to change the subject…. getting chills and goose bumps.
These two snakes are handmade Christmas ornaments which are hung on the tree by their curved necks.
