This weekend my camera club are taking part in something called the Ceser Challenge. This involves several clubs heading towards a specified contained area for two days and taking as many shots as possible to enter into a competition in September which is judged independently. The rules are that all shots must be taken on Saturday or Sunday and must be within the co-ordinates of the map.

Because of this I have not had a chance to upload a shot of the day since Friday so Im doing 3 shots in a row all from this weekend. I also cannot upload my favourite 3 shots as I have to save these for the competition come next year.

This weekend has been hot. I'm actually sunburnt . Its also been very bright and cloudless so shooting was a challenge. Looking forward to seeing what other people produced over the same weekend in the same area.

I managed to get my Godox AD200 fixed today so it would have been remiss of me not to nip out in the night and try to avoid breaking it again! Red and blue lighting made using the lightpaintingbrushes.com screw on colour hoods, all shot in one photographic exposure etc etc.

These are all shots of one of the southernmost arms of Lake Gilles. This is an inland saline lake with varying water levels. In winter after rains you will often find extensive areas submerged, but it can become very dry during the warmer months.

It was nice to see some water while I was there.

All shots taken with the light and lovely Nikon 500mm PF f5.6 lens

Another capture of the orange sickle/crescent moon taken from my balcony last night, around 3:30 AM. It came just above the lights on the Lions Gate Bridge. Because I wanted to get the bridge lights into my frame with the moon, they appear very tiny here and I could not get the bridge supports into my photo.

We are passionate about bringing a relaxed approach while creating beautiful, natural and vibrant images.

In May 2020, I did a series of macro photos of small flowers in my garden, trying to find interesting light. Today and over the following days, I will upload a selection from this series, and I hope you will enjoy them.

They were all shot with the Micro-Nikkor 105mm ƒ/2.8 macro lens —the old F–mount one, of course, as the new, native lens for the Z mount had not been launched back then.

All shots taken in Parco Dora, Turin, Italy

Hypnotic, elevating and energetic; recalls Eastern gong, drone, and percussive meditative traditions; integrated with consciously selected but seamlessly applied Western compositional structures and instrumentation; modern implementation with minimal but critical electrification and little to no amplification. Well done.

I thought I posted my last photo today, but instead I have a monstrosity of a series to add. I'll include all the photos in chronological order but only as small photos. It'll be LONGGGGG because I am including all shots instead of paring it down (sorry, won't happen again), but I find the series humorous, and it gives a picture of life in our home. When you look, please recognize that normally I am seated in that very spot on the sofa, so these piles typically form on top of me. Doesn't that just make your insides warm and fuzzy?

My favorites include #1, #19, #24, #30, and, yep, #42. Hit "end" to comment if you don't want to scroll down through so many photos. I think I kept the series whole to remember Bogart with his felines.

All photos clickable, of course.

These images won't be of much interest to anyone but me, but I wanted to capture a little of the last sunlight of 2024 here in my Tokyo neighborhood. All shot with the Fuji GFX50R, my favorite digital medium format camera.

All shot with 85mm f/1.8 optical lens and in-camera 2x Clear Image digital zoom (181.8mm equivalent)

Kutupalong refugee camp

A trip to the Rohingya refugee camp as a volunteer, just on the outskirts of Cox's Bazaar, the world's longest unbroken sea beach. The border was opened up and a flood of refugees came pouring in for dear life, escaping persecution and genocide in neighbouring, Myanmar. The terrorist Buddhist monks, along with the Myanmar army have been systematically persecuting the Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar for decades. Current state is rather dire, as it has blown to a full scale ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya people by the Myanmar (formerly Burma) army and militant Buddhist monks. So much for Buddhism being a peaceful religion. I tagged along with a local Bangladeshi NGO, which distributed food aid along with a make shift clinic at the border, where the refugee camp is located. Estimated 900,000+ refugees are cramped in tents in ghetto like conditions and many are ill, injured and lost their loved ones as rape, pillage and murder continue of the Rohingya people in Myanmar.

This is another story of an individual, who walked for almost a week to reach the border in dire search of a sanctuary. Many lost their dear ones and stories of mothers and sisters being raped and burned afterwards have become commonplace, along with minors. Young boys and men are all rounded up and sent to labour camps or are all shot dead and buried in mass graves. What are their crimes you ask? The colour of their skin, is their only sin!

I started to open all shots that I taken in Stockholm, yesterday...and some are something like painting...and the anture shows to us that, we do not need nothing more than...sensibility ....

I would like to visit all my FLICKRs FRIENDS, but I dont have time...I study, work, write a blog www.graceolsson.com/blog and I partipate at many PHOTOS GROUP IN INTERNET...AND this week I am guest friend at www.flowersfromtoday.blogspot.com and for that...I need to visit all friends there..and they are more than 80...and tomorrow I have another one...skywatchfriday...

So....I am so sorry....forgive me , please....

Sometimes, My daughter uploads the photos here...I came back from Africa, and Iam coming to Stockholm 2 times per week, for to take pictures of the a UNESCO PRIZER, end october I will be in iceland for 3 nights...and so...I am so busy...

A shot I would not normally bother to upload, but this is rare. I just happened to be out with my camera when I caught a glimpse of the bus. Stagecoach 36217 (KX60 LJA) is captured beside the Village Hall along Welton Road, Braunston, Something clearly isn`t right, as no buses use this stretch. It turned up past the Green and then up Ashby Road as usual on it`s journey towards Daventry with a D2. I later saw the same thing happen, so I assume a slight detour somewhere because of the snow, but I can`t for the life of me work this one out unless the road between Barby and Braunston was avoided.
