(wiki)

Yenidze is a former cigarette factory in Dresden, built in 1907-1909.

It was a tobacco company founded by a Jewish entrepreneur, Hugo Zietz, who imported tobacco from Ottoman Yenidze. The "oriental" style of architecture evoked the exotic origin of oriental tobacco, functioning as a company advertisement.

It has large, colorful domes and chimneys resembling minarets. He was referred to as the "tobacco mosque".

After renovation in 1996, the building is used as an office and service center. It remains the unique, characteristic and historical feature of Dresden.

Yenidze to dawna fabryka papierosów w Dreźnie, wybudowana w latach 1907-1909.

Określano go mianem "meczetu tytoniowego".

Pozostaje wyjątkową, charakterystyczną i historyczną cechą Drezna.

Tyton is another raptor ambassador. He came to the center in 2018 from Utah where he appears to have been struck by a car, leaving him with a broken wing and unable to fly.

The A&R is the rarest of shortlines. It is neither a former Class 1 line spun off nor is it part of a large shortline holding company. It is still a locally owned and independent railroad headquartered out of a tidy historic two story Federal Style brick building built in 1904 in Aberdeen. Chartered in 1892 it was two decades later before the rails finally reached this point, their furthest extent, and they have remained in service since.

I will not go into too much more history here, but this road is worthy of more study. If you're interested check out the road's own web site: www.aberdeen-rockfish.com/html/a_r_history.html

We found a crew slowly spotting cars at the Tyton Biofuels plant located 20 rail miles from Fayetteville. When complete there they headed west with three cars for FCI Inc where they would tie up for the night. The short three mile chase yielded a few nice views that I've shared before but something about this picture perfect broadside portrait on the loop at Tyton as they headed back toward the main.

On this day after leaving Fayetteville we found a crew slowly spotting cars at the Tyton Biofuels plant located 20 rail miles east. When completed there they headed west with three cars for FCI Inc just east of Raeford where they would tie up for the night. The short three mile chase yielded a few nice views and here is one of the last just before the arrived at FCI to tie down. They are seen popping out of a tree tunnel into the light and crossing a farm path at about MP 20.2

Here's another from a fun little chase I need to do again sometime.

Porteros: Manu Herrera y Tyton

For cutting and punching, we use special pliers by HellermannTyton. This tool is designed specially for the tube we use, which also comes from HellermannTyton.

Best practice for labeling a cable:

(1) Always write both ends of the cable on the label This can save lots of time in case of troubleshooting nasty cabling bugs.

(2) Choose descriptions, which are available/readable on the outside of the machine, even when a system is powered off or not even plugged in.

Label printer, side cutter, scissors, tube, special HellermannTyton tool.

After cutting to length, we can punch holes on the other end.
