Dieser Saab 96 mit Namen "Anton" ist ein Zweitakter, Baujahr 1963, 80 PS, 850 cc und ist einer der Saab 96 aus der Oldtimersammlung meines Mannes.

Der Lederriemen über der Motorhaube weist auf ein Rennauto hin. Dieser Saab wurde zu Eisrennen in Schweden eingesetzt. Im Winter 1963/64 war er Drittplazierter der Schwedischen Meisterschaft.

The leather strap over the bonnet indicates a racing car. This Saab was used for ice races in Sweden. In the winter of 1963/64 he was third in the Swedish championship.

Der Samstagmittag beim Balatoni Retró Hétvége hat seine ganz eigene Energie. Die Luft flirrt über den Schienen, Kinder winken Zügen nach, während ihre Eltern mit gezückten Smartphones auf das nächste Highlight warten. Zwischen Hügel und See, bei Zánka–Köveskál, ist es dann wieder so weit: Die M62 127 wuchtet sich mit mächtigem Takt gegen die Steigung. Der Auspuff wirft eine dichte Wolke empor, grau und schwer, fast wie ein Atompilz, der sich ins Sommerblau schraubt. Der ukrainische Zweitaktmotor jault unter Last, die Szene bebt Technik in ihrer rohsten, schönsten Form.

Was das Balatoni Retró Hétvége auszeichnet, ist mehr als das Rollen alter Züge. Es ist ein Fest der Details. Jede Lok ist liebevoll aufbereitet, viele tragen ihre Originallackierung, andere erinnern mit neuen Farbschemen an vergessene Zeiten. In den Bahnhöfen riecht es nach Pommes, am Gleisrand liegen Klappstühle, daneben Reprints alter Fahrpläne. Kinder lernen, was ein Schlussscheibenhalter ist, Großeltern schwelgen in Erinnerungen, während Loks mit Namen wie „Csörgő“ oder „Púpos“ vorbeidröhnen. Dazwischen immer wieder: Musik, Durchsagen, Kameras, ein Event, das Eisenbahnkultur atmet.

Und genau da, in diesem vibrierenden Mikrokosmos aus Geschichte und Gegenwart, schiebt sich die M62 127 durchs Bild, wuchtig, laut, ungebremst retro. Die Szene wirkt nicht gestellt, sondern wie ein kollektives Gedächtnis. Für viele das Foto des Tages.

Mit Louis Lucien Lepoix war ein Franzose verantwortlich für das Design der Puch Maxis, welche 1969 erschienen.

Neben den MS Modellen in allen Variationen und dem X 30 gab es damit eine dritte Moped-Linie im Hause Puch. Dabei war das Maxi dem X 30 wesentlich näher, das trotz sehr überschaubaren Erfolgs noch bis 1976 im Programm blieb.

Ganz anders das Maxi, das verkaufte sich von Anfang an wie die warmen Semmeln. Wesentliches konstruktives Merkmal des Maxis war der im Gegensatz zu seinen Ahnen in den Rahmen integrierte Tank. Dazu kamen noch einmal kleinere Räder und ein luftgekühlter Zweitakter. Bei der Modellpflege tobte man sich wieder richtig aus, so sehr, dass man kaum den Überblick behalten konnte. Mit fast jeder Neuerung kam ein neues Modell.

Die abgebildete Puch Supermaxi K stammt von 1986 und ist eines der letzten Modelle aus Graz. K stand für einen Katalysator, der damals gerade in Mode kam. Nur mehr etwa 300 Stück sollen noch produziert worden sein, bis dann im Herbst 1987 endgültig Schluss mit der Zweiradproduktion der Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG in Graz war. Piaggio hatte die Fahrrad- und Mopedsparte gekauft, und anderorts lief die Produktion noch bis 1995.

Wartburg 353 "Knight Mark 4" - a right-hand driven version of one of the most popular cars of the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) - in German "DDR" - Deutsche Demokratische Republik.

This car is from 1973 and is equipped with a 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine with 992ccm and a thrilling 52hp. Top speed: 125km/h.

Just 12,378 right-hand driven cars were built. The delivery time for this car in the former GDR was 16 years (so it must have been a really great car... ;-))
