Zinos Petrel.
Not easy to separate from Feas at sea. The Zinos is smaller but unless you have a side by side comparison it's a difficult call. The Zinos underwing often shows more white but that is not always the case and can't be relied upon.
The bill of the Zinos is always noticeably smaller and more slender. I've seen many Zinos at sea over the years but would still be reluctant to call one without having a decent photo to refer to.

650-jaar oud en nog steeds in bedrijf, de Noordmolen gelegen in het fraaie hof van Twente, landgoed Twickel. Wat een heerlijke zondag was dit samen met fotovriend van het eerste uur Bob van den Berg die ik hier via Flickr 10 jaar geleden leerde kennen. Het was een gezellige reünie, een traditie om levend te houden.

Pico Ruivo, 1862m altitude, 8.00 a.m.
Sun light streams through the clouds as the rugged landscape surrounding Madeira's highest peak takes shape.
Unavoidable lens flare, as I was shooting into the sun, but I rather like the effect.
On the far right you can just make out the recently installed Nato radar station on Pico do Areeiro (1818m), Madeiras third highest peak after Pico das Torres (1851m).

Avondfotografie, is voor mij dat moment nadat het blauwe uurtje is afgelopen. Vaak stopte ik dan met fotograferen. Maar op avonden zoals deze, nat, vind ik juist dat door de glinstering van de natte straat avondfotografie op zijn mooist is. De kerstboom is een mooie aanvulling op dit beeld, waarbij de Lebinus of Grote kerk uiteraard het stralende middelpunt vormt.
Dit is een enkele opname met het gloednieuwe Laowa W-Dreamer 15 mm. shift objectief.

The magnificent interior of the Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya.) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 'Shrine of the Holy Wisdom of God' started out as a Basilica (537), then a Mosque (1453) and after having being secularized (1931) is now a museum.
A masterpiece of Byzantine Architecture, its beautiful and lavish decoration is only surpassed by the huge dome and enormous size, having remained the largest Cathedral for 1000 years.
Upon completion, The Emperor Justinian I is said to have proclaimed: "Solomon, I have outdone thee!"

Pico Ruivo, 1862m altitude, 7.25 a.m.
Dawn, with daylight approaching, light scatters across the sky as crepuscular rays burst through the clouds at the top of the Island.
The long red wavelengths are reflected in the clouds with the shorter brighter blue wavelengths lighting up the sky.
Below, the mountains fall off to the ocean, still under cloud cover and with no light reflecting from them they seem further away, their true colour not yet apparent.
This interesting atmospheric phenomenon is called aerial perspective. Contrast and colour saturation decrease in proportion with the objects' distance from the observer. As the distance between an object and an observer increases, the colors of the object are replaced with the colors of the atmosphere, in this case the shortest of wavelengths at the far end on the spectrum, with deep blues and violets.

An inspiring rendition of Rodrigo's 'Concierto de Aranjuez' by special guest and charismatic Petrit Çeku accompanied by the fantastic 'local' Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tomislav Fačini at the Rector's Palace in Dubrovnik.
A wonderful experience and warm 'ambiance' in a magical Renaissance/Baroque venue for a truly fabulous concert!
