I went with this because of the personal relationship to this marvel. I can plug this into my dash and drive from California to New York and not hear the same music twice. Bach to ZZTop and it is all on the size of a thumb nail.

I was told to shooting from the photo pit, however the band changed their mind at the last minute and wanted us to shoot from the crowd, which it sucked, but the show was awesome.

I must have been under a rock the past couple of weeks. I had no idea that Dusty Hill of ZZ Top passed away on 7/28/21 until my son told me today. I am saddened to hear the news.
I was very lucky to have seen ZZ Top in concert in Chatt.Tn.
It was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen.
This is one of my favorite photos that I took at the concert. Great smiles from Dusty Hill and Billy Gibbons and a concert that I will never forget.
You will be missed, Dusty.Rest in peace.

Gli ZZ Top sono un gruppo rock statunitense formatosi nel 1969 a Houston in Texas.
Si distinguono per aver mantenuto la formazione originale dopo più di 40 anni. Hanno raggiunto l'apice della carriera tra gli anni settanta e ottanta pubblicando diversi brani di successo; sono tuttora in attività e continuano a pubblicare nuovi album e ad esibirsi in tour. Gli ZZ Top, il 15 marzo 2004, sono stati inseriti nel Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Curiosità: Oltre ad essere noti per la loro musica, sono anche ricordati come gruppo dall'apparenza trasandata: Gibbons e Hill sono sempre fotografati con degli occhiali da sole (forse un accenno alla loro canzone Cheap Sunglasses), abbigliamento simile, e quello che fa dei ZZ top il loro trademark: le lunghe barbe.
Nel 1984, la nota compagnia di rasoi Gillette, offrì a Gibbons e Hill un milione di dollari per rasare la loro barba per una pubblicità, ma l'offerta fu rifiutata. Ironicamente, l'unico membro della band a non portare regolarmente una lunga barba è il batterista Frank Beard (il cui cognome, in inglese, vuol dire proprio barba).

L'origine del nome della band non è stata resa ufficiale per molti anni. Alcuni dicevano che deriva da due marche di cartine per rullare sigarette, Zig-Zag e Top; altri che non era altro che un tributo al noto bluesman Z.Z. Hill, altri ancora che si intendesse facilitare la ricerca degli album della band negli scaffali dei negozi, sempre all'ultima posizione a causa della doppia zeta. La vera origine, a detta di Gibbons e trascritta anche nel suo libro (Rock + Roll Gearhead), è che si tratta di un tributo al maestro di blues B.B. King. Lo hanno voluto chiamare Z.Z. King invece di B.B. King. poi decisero di sostituire "King" con "Top", creando il nome "ZZ Top".
