Fort Rodd Hill - a National Historic Site - is a coast artillery fort built in the late 1890s to defend Victoria and the Esquimalt Naval Base.
Love the perspective you can get on the familiar things when shooting it from the air.
Not 100% happy yet but getting there.

Saturday morning we drove 42km from home to Mill Bay via Bamberton and Mill Bay Scenic Drive.
We put the drone up in Bamberton looking for the Malahat Skywalk but no joy.
Before heading home we stopped at our favourite mid-island cafe for coffee and Cranberry Spice muffins.
Saturday we put the drone up over West Hills Housing Development in Langford, BC.

Clark Tower in the Fall located in Winterest Iowa
Situated in Winterset City Park , Clark's Tower was erected in 1926 as a memorial to one on the county's first pioneer families by their descendants. Dedicated in 1927 to honor Caleb and Ruth Clark, early settlers in Madison County. Constructed of native limestone, the tower is 12 feet in diameter and stands 25 feet tall.

Friday we drove 45km from home to Sooke Potholes on Vancouver Island. The plan was to put my drone up over the confluence of the Sooke and Leech Rivers but this did not happen. It was pouring rain and drones don't fly in the rain. I did cycle the Galloping Goose Trail up to the 54km Marker from the Upper Parking Lot (#2) and got some video and pictures of the river at flood. It was pretty high-water but not the highest we've seen it. My waterproof clothing got wet but I did not. There's no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing.

A couple of years ago Allendale Field was a legal place to fly drones and other Remotely-piloted aircraft system (RPAS). Not any more.

Beside Rat Lake on Vancouver Island, BC
On a misty, Sunday morning my grandson (22yrs) and I took a bike ride up to Rat Lake from Mill Bay Road at Bemberton, BC (on Vancouver Island) 6600m.
It was a blast! After an exhilarating bike ride, we put the drone up and got some misty video of the lake from 100ft.
The trail is maintained by the Cowichan Valley Regional District while the land is owned by a logging company. After landing the drone, we rode our bikes up to the lake. The trails are very rough.

Monday morning I took the new DJI Mini2 quadcopter out for a ride β in the sky.
This was its first flight and as soon as it was launched it gave a warning the SD card wasn't up to specifications.
The first flight was to determine the video and photo image quality in 1920x1080p (1080p) video. The 16:9 pictures are over 4000 pixels wide.
Not a fair test with an inferior SD card but it still recorded pretty good. I bought a high-performance, Extreme Plus 64GB card on the way home.
