I've spent too long
With an endless stream of garbage
...curse the place
My skin is cold
In a sea of random images
To the human touch
The self-destructing animal
This bleeding heart's
Waiting for the waves to break
Not beating much...
I'm creeping back to life
My nervous system all awry
I'm wearing the inside out

I found this DIY lighting project on someone's blog that I've been wanting to try for a while. I finally broke down and put it together a couple of weeks ago and have been dying to try it out ever since.
I mainly put everything together to take better shots of my figures so I decided to give it a whirl to see what I could come up with.
I've been trying to get my hands on one of these ever since the first season of the new Dr Who show. I walked in the comic store and it was just waiting for me. I swear I have no willpower. I actually went for something else. Go figure.

Myles Mattila Bio
Myles Mattila was born in Quesnel, BC, and is currently going into Grade 12. Myles has challenged himself both on and off the ice, including going to 2 high schools to accomplish his goals, and pursuing his desire of playing hockey at a high level. He was drafted to the Vancouver Giants in the WHL bantam draft.
Myles read about the story of the late Vancouver Canuck player Rick Rypien, who lost his life to mental illness. Rick’s close friend, Kevin Bieska, continues to raise mental health awareness and carry on Rick’s legacy through mindcheck.ca. Myles thought of his own friend who had struggled with mental health in the past, and decided he needed to do something so others wouldn’t suffer in silence. He took the initiative to start raising awareness in his community, breaking down barriers and working to end the stigma surrounding mental health. He has aspirations of reaching out to as many people as possible, making sure people know where they can go to get resources, and know they are not alone.
Myles has been recognized in Prince George, Kelowna, and throughout the province of BC for the work he is doing to bring awareness to this issue. He is the provincial youth representative for mindcheck.ca, as well as sits on the steering committee for the Prince George Local Action Team for Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use. Myles strives to reach out to as many people as possible regarding mental health awareness, and is optimistic of what the future will look like with a community free of stigma.
👑 God is with you - 📖 "This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 NLT) - 💡 Loneliness. One definition defines this as "sadness resulting from the awareness of being alone." It's not so much physically being isolated that makes a person feel lonely, as much as the feeling of not being connected to anyone. We can blame it on social media, but bottomline, loneliness is a weed that has been spreading in this generation. It has subtly been turning our attention on the people who are not in our life and blinding us from seeing the One who is always in our life. - 💡 God. Our Father, Papa, Daddy, who has us wrapped in his arms and nestled close to his heart. There is no loneliness in His embrace. There is only love, joy, laughter, freedom and a feeling of belonging. His heart is our home. - 💡 Sweet princesses, you don't need a lot of friends, a boyfriend, or to be around people that "get" you, to feel connected and loved. See, loneliness can make us feel like we know better than God, who should actually be in our lives and when. People in your life may seem scarce... yet God could be protecting you or preparing you for those who would be better to have in your life. Trust in His plan and His timing. - 💡 But regardless of the quality or quanitity of people in your life, He is always going to be with you. You are powerful and a daughter of the King and He absolutely loves you! Remember, loneliness is only a feeling, not a reality, for you are never truly alone. - 🌸 Have a Beautiful Day Princesses! 🌸 - 👑 http://www.toallyouprincesses.com 👑 _______________________________ #ToAllYouPrincesses #QuotesForGirls #ChristianQuotes #BibleQuotes #InspirationalQuotes #WiseSayings #GirlQuotes #QuotesForWomen #ChristianSayings #BibleVerse #TeenageLife #KeepFighting #LifeQuotes #BeautifulQuotes #RelationshipQuotes #SuccessQuotes #DontGiveUp #QuotesForTeens #PositiveQuotes #TeenQuotes #WomenQuotes #GodQuotes #PrincessQuotes #FaithQuotes #StayStrong #StayPositive #saveme #Godiswithyou #Joshua1 #YouAreNotAlone - toallyouprincesses
I fixed my leaking upstairs bathroom sink (that's decorated in the 19craptastic style something I plan on changing soon) all by myself. Took the broken part to lowes and had some assistance finding the right replacement parts since the faucets maker is a mystery. Replaced the spring and the seat (since it was the faucet that was dripping and only the hot side) and now no more drip!
Fixing this faucet, as small and as ordinary as this task was made me feel that I'm capable of more than I thought.

I'm uploading this now, but I took the picture last night.
I bought a rose earlier in the day. I had intended to just give it to a stranger, someone passing by. I figured Valentine's Day is great and all for the people that have other people, but the rest of the people experience the worst pangs of loneliness. So, why not just do something like giving someone something as insignificant as two chocolates wrapped up to look like a rose. Who know, you just might make them smile.
I ended up not giving it to anyone during the day. I put the rose back into my backpack, intending to just take it back home. But then I thought, well heck, if I've already bought it, I might as well make good use of the money and put it to its intended purpose. So I was sitting at dinner and decided to just write a note to the next person who sat down.
I think I've got a pretty high E.Q. I'm not usually very emotional, but yesterday was just one of those days. I was nervous when I was doing it, but I don't regret it. I'm beginning to learn that the things that usually involve risks in them, are most of the time the most worthwhile and rewarding afterwards. I'm also trying to learn how to trust my own judgments and doing what I feel like doing, irrespective of what other people may think (something I think I struggle with all too much).
Here's to new things, taking small steps, and taking more risks!
