The Yoke and buckets are lifted by the invisible marionet player. A light yoke indeed:-)

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

"Almighty God, grant that the new birth of your Son in the flesh redeems us from the old slavery under the yoke of sin, so we may receive him with joy as our Redeemer, and that when when he comes to judge we may see Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen."

❤️❤️❤️

I think every photographer has some pictures that are not a kind of his usual, some other genre. Here is such a pic I took some time ago in the village, in the back yard of my friend's house. I like all these subjects. They may tell a story about the life we do not already remember.

Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.

Saint Andreas The today-honored Saint Apostle Andreas the Protoklitos(firstly called by Jesus) is, of course, known as the patron saint of Patras.

From the Byzantine period, however, he was the patron saint of Nafplion too.

There was also a large Byzantine church of Saint Andrew from the 8th century at Akronafplia, which was demolished by the Turkish conquerors in 1540 and the mosque of the poet was built in its place.

In the dawn of 30 November 1822, on the anniversary of St. Andrew's Day, after the heroic action of Demetrios Moschonisiotis, the fearless besieger of Staikos Staikopoulos liberated the city from the Turkish yoke.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

All double yokes. Yum

One of only 2 remaining flight-capable B29 Superfortresses, “Doc” was lovingly restored by her group of volunteers and support members to make her the beauty to behold she is today.

I just wanted to post this before going out in the brutal cold and try and find some new stuff.....sometimes old is good.....lol

Cranes loading cranes.

Old Yoke hanging on the tool shed made from logs, used to hitch up a mule or ox to pull tools, found in North Carolina.

57312 returned to Scotland this week and was once again involved in dragging Class 320's between Kilmarnock and Yoker. It's seen here passing under the M77 at Kennishead with 320304 in tow on 5Q83 from Kilmarnock to Yoker - normally routed via Paisley but diverted via Barrhead on this occasion due to ongoing engineering works.

320304 is the latest of ScotRail's 22 Class 320/3 units to undergo a time-based overhaul and repaint. The work is being carried out by Brodie Engineering at their depot in Kilmarnock.

You couldn't tell from this image, but Network Rail is actively carrying out lineside clearance works along the routes between Glasgow and Barrhead / East Kilbride. Based on Network Rail's tweets and planning documents filed with Glasgow City Council they want to electrify the route in the near future, so EMU's could well become a lot more common along this stretch...

Synchronized great horned owlets.... I think this might be the ornithological equivalent of finding two yolks in your morning egg ;) www.facebook.com/WilsonAxpe

The ganzhenlin river (竿蓁林溪)was converged from the ganzhengen river(竿蓁坑溪), dongshige river(東勢格溪), and huoshaoliao river(火燒寮溪). the river bend from the left to right hand side at almost 360 degrees flows as the main stream of Keelung river, which cuts the valley into a V-shape and forms a little island floating above the water surface. this is the rare occasion of a geographical " yoke landform(牛軛地形)" and the pingsi people refer it as the "mountain in water"

The yoke is finished! I'm happily knitting away on the body now.

update: if you want to know how to make this shirt, good news! the pattern is included in my forthcoming book, Crochet Adorned. yay.

I crocheted the yoke from scratch, then modified some pieces from my built by wendy pattern for the fabric bottom. it took a lot of adjusting, and longer than I thought, because I had to cover the raw edges with a self-made bias, but it was worth it for a finished look.

The color isn't quite right here, but my camera wouldn't cooperate. the pink is most like the pink in the closeup photos. Yarn used is Vickie Howell's "Rock" in color "shirley". Fabric from Heather Bailey's Fresh Cut Collection.

The Stats:

Yarn: 1 lb. of Fantom Farm natural dark brown wool/alpaca mix roving spun into approx. 710 yards of heavy worsted weight two ply yarn, plus these Romney and Romney/mohair mixes, spun from Fantom Farm dyed rovings:

dk. brown- 132 yards/ 3.1 oz.

dk. olive- 128 yards/ 3.0 oz.

olive- 132 yards/ 30 oz.

rust- 130 yards/ 2.9 oz.

acid green- 78 yards/ 2.4 oz.

There are leftovers of every color except the acid green and the main body yarn. I cut them very close. Like, staying up super late at night to finish because you are pretty sure you're going to run out of yarn and you won't be able to sleep if you don't know the outcome.

Pattern: My own, which will be available somewhere, someday.

Needles: size 8 for the yoke, 7 for the body, and 6 for the edgings

Gauge: 4.5 sts. and 6 rows per inch

Size: 42" bust (2" ease)

Started: A loooong time ago.

Finished: August 30, 2007

That is not really the name of this peony, but I am putting my own name on it! It does remind me of an egg yoke for some reason. :-)

A series of images from a wander through the Troutbeck valley and back over the tops of Froswick, Ill Bell and Yoke in the English Lake District in late winter 2023.

One stop before leaving Corvallis. Breakfast at the Broken Yoke. Highly recommended.

Kept adjusting the angle to get the spiral in the shadow where I wanted it. After all, it's all about the shadow!

Yoker railway station serves the district of Yoker, Scotland. The station is served by Abellio ScotRail as part of the SPT network, on the Argyle and North Clyde Lines. It is the nearest railway station to the Renfrew Ferry on the north side of the River Clyde. The large Yoker Traction Maintenance Depot, which looks after the EMU fleet used on North Clyde suburban services, is a short distance to the east, towards Garscadden. Yoker IECC is also nearby - this has controlled the signalling on the entire North Clyde network since established by British Rail in 1989. Quoted from Wikipedia

Day 42 / 180

This photo was inspired by my good friend Chan and his "eggcelence"! The concept doesn't necessarily have anything to do with him, but this photograph does and it's something I can't eggactly eggsplain. You'd just have to know the guy.

Hope you enjoy this photo!
