Northern harriers are my favorite raptor so it's safe to say that I spend a lot of time photographing them. whenever I can. Consequently, it's difficult to get a unique pose out of them. Luckily, I found this lady harrier while she was attending her yoga class and showing off the "Downward Harrier" pose. LOL
OK, seriously this female harrier was spotted investigating some feather snaps on the frozen lake. When she leaned over, the wind caught her from behind and caused her to be in this extreme lean over pose. Thought she was going to flip over. LOL.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

I tell you this.
I have nothing more to hide.
and Nothing else to lose.
I tell you this.
I give you all that I have.
Faith, Trust and Honesty.
with this I pledge.
my surrender.
in serenity.

I want to share some of my yoga images as I hope they will inspire people to practice yoga or at least see the art in yoga.
This was taken out in the Namib desert. Nic and I found this huge branch and transported it to our location. There was quite a strong wind on the day so it was difficult to keep the branch up and hold my balance. The flying leaves resemble birds and I like that.

I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. ~ Og Mandino
Taken in the Gila Wilderness in New Mexico. Behind the rock outcropping you can see the rain pouring down far off in the horizon. We knew the storm was coming and that we had to hike down off the mountain, however we did not notice the rain in the photo frame until we got home. This is a common view in the southwest during the summer monsoon season. The land is so vast, the view is so far in each direction, that you will see these patches of rainfall across the horizon during the monsoons.

I really want to start getting more into processing like this. I feel like my self portraits have been so typical lately and I really need to step up my game so I spent 1 hour processing this image if not longer.
I imagined something more spectacular but this was the result. Next week I will try and be more creative. :)
Have a great weekend everyone!
Urdhva Dhanurasana
(Upward Bow Pose/Wheel Pose)
may 2007
afternoon yoga class
i finally had the guts
to try
and lift myself
into this pose.
i still remember
the very moment...
i thought something
in me would break
or worse
that i would faint!
but no,
with the world upside down
and fear beside me
i held myself up
and eased into the pose
as quietly and
calmly as i could.
=)

Apparently this photo made it to a site called reddit.com I haven't heard of it before but some people were complaining about my title...so I changed it. I could care less about the title BTW I sometimes post these things late at night and write the first thing that comes to my head. Really, its not that THAT serious. Other than that, Thank you everyone for loving this image. I'm amazed at how many views its received. Many thanks!! :)
