This is the only three-axle double-decker bus currently owned by TfL and the only hybrid version BCI in the UK.
Although Bus & Coach International (BCI) is a company registered in Australia, their production lines are all located in Xiamen, China. Their registered name in China is Xiamen Fengtai Bus & Coach International Co., Ltd. The company's major shareholder is Weichai Power from Weifang, and its subsidiary, Yaxing Bus from Yangzhou. Therefore, the BCI brand vehicle construction was completed by the Yangzhou Yaxing Bus at the Xiamen plant. To some extent, this bus is a veritable Yaxing bus.
BCI was originaly registered by Bailujia on their bus products to both domestic and expot market. Bailujia focused on production to domestic market only by registering a new brand BLK, and subsequently sold BCI brand to Weichai.
