Mt. Adams
Cincinnati, Ohio
A recent snowfall from Cincinnati's Playhouse In The Park.
Formally known as Mt. Ida after a washerwoman named Ida Martin who lived in a sycamore tree on the hill, Mt. Adams was renamed in 1843 after President John Quincy Adams who delivered a dedication address for an observatory which sat where the massive building in the middle right top of the image. The observatory was moved in 1871 to Mt. Lookout and is still in operation today.
Germany, Hamburg, …no, …it’s not Venice, it is a homage to the “Venetian Carnival” in Hamburg, the “Maskenzauber”, magic masques.
Charming masks, impressive costumes & the flair of the Hanseatic city between Alster-Arcades & Colonnades.
When masked ladies & cavaliers stroll through the streets in Hamburg, then the annual Maskenzauber on the Alster takes place.
Mask magic became a solid & unique event over the years developed in the Hamburg’s street culture life.
Spectators can admire imaginative costumes, dances & in the evening fire dance at this elegant Venetian style street carnival on the carnival weekend.
Unfortunately, the weather this year, 2018, was chilly, humid & unpleasant,
…however, it could not spoil the festive spirit of the performers & audiences.

Japan, Food, Poster Yakimono, I created for a Yakimono promotion, small Japanese brochettes.
One sample out of a selection of 40 different skewers, wild-caught & chargrilled, seasoned Black Tiger Jumbo Prawn on a bamboo skewer.
God created food,
the devil created cooks,
…but the women give as inspiration!
Prawns or Shrimps?
Prawns have lamellar gills, side plates that overlap tile-like from front to back & carry their eggs inside their bodies near their tails.
Shrimp have branching gills, a side plate that overlays segments in front & behind, carrying their eggs outside of their bodies beneath their tails under the carapace.
Biologically speaking, they are different animals,
culinary there is no difference
Often labelled prawns are larger but aren't necessarily true prawns & plenty of shrimp aren't shrimpy in size at all. To make the confusion complete, some "prawns", such as spot prawns are biological shrimp & some "shrimp", notably ridgeback shrimp are technically prawns.
Bottom line, ..as long the crustaceans are really fresh, deliciously well prepared, not overcooked/grilled etc., not chewy &
you are in good company, it does not matter if prawn or shrimp ⦂⚪).

it's "name that butterfly" time

the butterfly's name is Derek so nobody actually got it right...
...but the species is Grayling and that was certainly mentioned a few times

I was stood outside Marks and Spencer's in Peterborough last Saturday and it was almost spiritual how the light was outlining the leaves, I truly have not created this halo effect around them. Well it was certainly more spiritual than looking around womens wear with my good lady ;-)
